Default Dish HD DVR Any way to still use Hamromy 550?

I switched to Dish TV, and I had an HD DVR put in my wife's media room that uses an RF remote. Is there some kind of adaptor I can get to use her Harmony 550 to control the Dish box? Does Dish offer an IR remote to control it?

I think you need to change the DVR from UHF Pro to IR. Refer to your manual (or check this one online, chapter 10, not sure if this is your DVR (612)).

Your receiver accepts both UHF and IR (Infrared) commands. The remote control only
outputs UHF Pro signals but can be changed to transmit IR commands by switching the
key at the bottom. This is also useful for programming an after-market universal learning
remote control to operate your receiver. Note that when the remote control is in IR mode,
you will need to use it from the same room to operate the receiver because IR signals do
not travel through walls or over great distances.
Once you set the DVR to receive IR commands then you can use your Harmony remote using the profile for your DVR.

Also, I found post: "I have a 612 DVR, it it both IR and UHF. If the remote is not working propery after you program it, it its because you need to set the remote address to the DVR. You do this by going to the system info with your UHF and pressing the REC. button on your harmony that should fix the problem."

I would suggest sending a PM to Ryan if you need more info.

OK thanks for the info. My DVR is the VIP-722k. I'll check the manual to see if if has this option as well. The new box in my master bedroom, VIP-211k, is IR as well; but I could not get the Harmony 660 in that room to control the satellite receiver at all. The only one I got working was the 211k in my living room and the Harmony XBox 360 remote. I do appreciate your time, and giving me a heads up where to start looking.

I got all of my remotes working. It's turns out that TV2 is the only one that uses the UHF remote, and the rest were IR. I just assumed incorrectly that they would all use the same IR profile for their model number, but they don't. I just had to have the Harmony learn the IR commands for each respective box.
