Default LG 42LH30 -- blurring?

Hi. I just picked up a 42LH30 to replace my 32LG20 which I sold. It's generally a nice set, except that in high-contrast scenes (across at least two sources so I know it's not the input media) there's visible motion blurring (which appears to be caused by the set's response time.)

The response time of this set is supposed to be 5ms, which should be more than low enough for my garbage eyes. Every review I've seen of this set fails to mention this problem. Is it just me? Is it just this one unit?

5ms, 6ms, 7ms, 8ms....

The difference (in the grand scheme of things) between those response times is negligible, and it's doubtful you will visibly see any improvement without the addition of 120Hz and motion interpolation. It's one of the drawbacks of LCD technology that has to be adequately addressed.

I just picked up the same tv in the 47" model, but I really haven't watched it much yet. It's in my wife's media room, not mine. Price was the driving factor in the purchase though. I accidentally blew up my wife's tv while wall mounting it, so I had to replace it immediately but didn't want to use any of my savings or credit.

I know, I know, it's marketing. :P The issue is that there's an onionskin effect in high-motion, high-contrast scenes.
