Hi - I have what I fear is a fairly odd problem.
I'm living in the US but I brought over my UK Sony BDP-s360. since I don't have an HDTV here I'm making a compromise by trying to hook it up to an old SD projector using the phono leads - ( I think that's what they're called - the red, white and yellow cables ). However whilst I get sound I'm getting no picture - is this because the signal my UK Blu Ray player is putting out is not compatible with the US projector? (It's a Sharp XR-10X) Thanks! |

Composite cables is what you are using to plug it up to your projector. What were you using to hook it up before? HDMI? The line in on the player for composite cables could be bad, or the settings on the player may need to be adjusted. Try plugging into a SDTV with the composite cable and see if you get video with it. Then you will know if it is the projector not agreeing with the player, or an issue with the player or it's settings.

Thanks for the reply! Yes back in the UK I used HDMI; it's just that the current equipment I have available over here does not have an HDMI or component input meaning I'm having to go the SD route!
I did indeed try the composite on a SDTV and no picture (perhaps the player is outputting at 24fps and neither the projector or old CRT SDTV can handle that input refresh rate?) The problem is I can't access the menus in the BD player because I can't get an image! Otherwise I might be able to fiddle with the output settings! |
