walmart blu ray prices in american dollars...

dont forget to add in the gas prices, unelss your really close or unless you plan on picking up 5+ movies the $5-$10 dollars you save on the movies might not be worth it after gas

I'm in Canada, Montreal to be exact, and I know of a place here in town that carries Blu-Ray movies for really good prices.

Have you tried ebay? Cheaper than going to the US.

Have you tried Amazon.com? They fulfill out of Mississauga, ON and there are no taxes or duties.

I've gotten a LOT of titles from them. Including both the titles you mentioned.

If he's going to detroit, he's more than likely somewhere near toronto. I grew up about 1.5 hours north of detroit. I went to CA all the time.

My local Canadian Wal-Mart has lots of Blu-ray movies for $20-$30

Most Paramount discs are around $23

No need to go to Detroit Rock City and spend the gas - Walmart is okay for prices but - living in Calgary - Best Buy or the odd BD at Future Shop (eventhough Best Buy owns Future Shop) seems to be the best pricing currently.

I picked up 300 for $29.99, Shooter for $30.99 and Waiting for $21.99 this past week. Have also purchased Swordfish, Lethal Weapon 1 & 2 for $19.99 each at Best Buy. The have discounted pricing from time to time.

London Drugs & Block Buster are way over-priced from what I have found. You just have to be a BD bargain hunter. Buying off e-bay is okay too but if you are like me, I want, what I want, when I want it - cut and dry.

Yeah, though Best Buy has several Paramount titles for $19.99.

I just went to Allegany state park for the week. I have to tell you... it's not easy trying to find good Blu-ray titles in the state of New York. Lewiston, Jamestown, Springville and Bradford in PA, all Wal-Mart Supercentre locations carry 3 or 4 titles, no more than that.

The closest I came to was FYE (For Your Entertainment) in Jamestown, and man... the prices were OUTRAGEOUS.

Like I'm going to pay $40 USD for Night at the Museum. Even titles like Silent Hill (previously viewed) was $30.

What a joke.

For these living in any of these towns I mentioned, are there any good stores that carry a large number of Blu-ray movies at a good price?

I'll like to know!

I just came back from the U.S. to Canada, after staying in the Eastern NY, Vermont area. I had a chance to hunt Blu Ray and found that there is very little difference in price, once you account for the dollar differential and the taxes involved. I bought the movie 300 for $24.99, after a price match at Best Buy. I was also eligible for the $5.00 Bravehart SD DVD and the $5.99 SD version of The 300 Spartans. I tried to buy the movie Shooter, in BD, but found the price at $26.96 at Walmart and $29.99 at Best Buy and Circuit City, not worth the buy in. You will also notice a better selection of BD movies at the Canadian Walmarts, as opposed to their U.S. cousins. Forget about the smaller FYI or any other music outlet. They are way over priced. I stick with E Bay for a lot of titles. Just be selective and wait it out. You can get good bargains if you bid on the items at off peak hours.

If you want to save some money to buy blu-rays, then purchase some Paradigm Mini-Monitor, or studio-version speakers in Canada, and sell them on E-bay in the USA. Haul them over yourself, and ship from within the USA. Don't know if you have family or friends to pull that one off, or if you plan to stay in the USA for a while.

Paradigm are much cheaper in Canada (made there) and if you try to ship them by mail from Canada to the USA, the buyer gets nailed with big customs fees. It used to be that they were $100 per pair cheaper in Canada. Not sure about now, but I bet there's still a huge price difference (like 1/3 cheaper).

When the internet and E-bay first started taking off, the "audio boutique" stores selling Paradigm and Energy speakers went nuts. They all but unionized and threatened to drop Paradigm if they didn't do something about it (so Paradigm began threatening Canadian dealers with pulling their dealership license to sell Paradigm if they were caught shipping to the USA). Canadian dealers didn't like that heavy-handedness too much, and were thrilled to sell the speakers to Americans who made the drive up.

Paradigm also refuses to honor warranty on speakers purchased without a reciept (so make sure to send the original reciept with the speakers you sell, if you do this).

I purchased my Paradigm center channel on E-bay, and have had it for over 6 years, so the price gouging USA Paradigm dealers can shove it.

Just wanted to say that this Yank is very happy to hear from all you Canucks!
As I'm learning more and more about Canada, I didn't know that Future Shops were owned by Best Buy. I went into a Future Shop about 3 weeks ago while on a visit to St. Catharines, ON. And I have visited Canada 6 times in just the past 2 3/4 years alone.
I do know that prices at HMV are pretty outrageous. Went into a place called Cinema in The Pen Centre in St. Cath and YOW! Ridiculously expensive!
Sounds like (with you being in Windsor, ON) your best bets are with Amazon.com.

Jodi, 'Eh!

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee...

Yeah I am from Toronto and I get most of my Blu discs from Amazon.Com, It's much cheaper than Amazon.ca.

An example is the Fifth Element Remastered - $32.00 Canadian from Amazon.Ca,

http://www.amazon.ca/The-Fifth-Eleme...6352335&sr=1-1

and $19.99 From Amazon.Com

http://www.amazon.com/Fifth-Element-...blurayforum-20

Shipping is $5-8 Canadian to Canada from Amazon.com for the standard shipping method so the best way to save a lot of money is to order 2 or more Blu Rays at a time from them.

And Amazon.com has deals every so often on Blu Ray Discs. A little while ago

Go to Bestbuy, they have a number of decent titles including the Road Warrior, Enter the Dragon, Corpse Bride for 19.99. If you live in the West Coast of Canada (me; Vancouver), London Drugs is good for a surprise or two (Departed for $26, for example; 300 is on for $27.99)...
