Default The Many Faces of my HT through a year

Decided to make a thread of before and after through the year of 2009, Alot has changed in a whole year. You can even see the picture quality change LOL

This wasn't my 1st set up Ive ever had but it's the 1st I took a pic of
Here I had a pair of Definitive Techs SM350's, Supercube 1 with no surrounds or center, I was also using a Pioneer 1018 as my receiver.

Here I upgraded to a pair of Definitive BP8b's and removed the computer

Here I changed the receiver to the Marantz SR5003 and got a new Moster power conditioner

Here I added a Pioneer bluray player, NAD cd player, Auralex SubDude and added a Definitive c/l/r 2300 center speaker

Here I added some chrome spikes to my Def Techs

My first Emotiva amp, The UPA-7

My second purchase from Emotiva was my ERC-1 CD Player

New front speakers, The Definitive BP10b's

Here got rid of all my Def Techs, sold my Marantz and added a pair of Emotive ERT 8.3's along with a XPA-3

Here I sold my Emotiva UPA-7 and got my Emotive ERM 6.3 Center speaker

Here I added an XPA-2 amp, sold my Monster power conditioner and added a Panamax 5300EX

So far the last pic Ive added a new pre/amp USP-1 and SVS PC13 ULTRA Sub

***UPDATE*** Most recent pics of my upgrades for October 2010

Now have an LG 60'' Plasma, 2 Emotiva XPA-1 mono blocks, Emotiva XPA-5, Oppo BD player, Def Tech BPX surrounds, SVS SB13 Ultra sub, B&W Nautilus 802 and B&W Nautilus HTM1 center. This is still a work in progress, I plan to get acoustic panels as well as find a new place to put the sub and XPA-5. Oooo also plan to get a projector in the near future

****UPDATED PICS FOR 10/27/2010****

New Acoustic panels, Sold XPA-5 and got me an Emotiva UPA-1 and ERC-1..Also moved the sub

***UPDATED with new projector and 120'' screen January 2011***
Well I finally decided to take my first step into projector's, I didn't get anything fancy since im an amateur at this. I got a really good deal on a Epson 8100 which 1080p and pretty entry level, I also got a 120'' pull down screen. I also decided to build something that would cover up the projector screen since I didn't like looking at it hanging there.

Still need to get a replacement sub

Hello Pitbull.

How are you doing? Thank you for the trip down memory lane. It was fun viewing the photos and watching the system's transformation. It definitely went thru some interesting changes. Adding the Emotiva speaker package was a surprise. But, replacing the Marantz SR6003 with the Emotiva USP-1 pre-amp was a real shocker. Emotiva must love you. They make great products for the money. What are you doing for surround sound, because isn't the USP-1 just a 2 channel pre-amp? Never mind, I just re-read the caption regarding that subject. Well, all I can say is it looks impressive.
You really should change your call sign to Emotiva, therefore, I am!

Now that's the way to put up a gallery! Excellent job on presenting us with a timeline and the amazing changes you implemented over the course of a year. Really, really solid upgrades, and I'm sure you're lovin' the whole system. How much longer do you have to wait for the UMC-1?

Great to see that you moved the entertainment centre away from its former corner position. There is something I would like to suggest however. Can you move the subwoofer to another location? If so, you could centre the entertainment unit and give that left front speaker some more breathing room. You should definitely be able to hear an improvement in the quality of the overall sound that way.

All in all, excellent job and thanks for the tour!

John

Mike, that is one impressive and amazing set of pics.

To see the way you started and then follow all the changes you made,is Incredible.
You have one extremely impressive System.

And have had an amazing system since you had three speakers for your front soundstage.
I had no idea you made so many changes over the year.

I would have been more then glad to take that first full system with the Def Tech BP8's.

But what you have managed to put together in the end is Beautiful.
All of the Emotiva Components and the Very Impressive Looking Emotiva Speakers. And also the Beautiful Big-Screen Monitor,BD Player and SVS Cylinder Shaped Beast of a Subwoofer.

Not to Overlook the Fact,That You have an impressive Furniture Suit and AV Rack as well.

Impressive,Inspiring,and Incredible!!!
