MY local BB has over 100 Pioneer 50" Kuro Signature Elite 101 FD in the warehouse , advertised price is 2799.00 , can get them for less I think .

No more 60" Pioneers left

Best Buy in Tulsa Ok
101 is a monitor , no tuner or audio
101 has some 10g tech in it , at least thats what is said , it does have darker blacks than other 9g Pioneers , I can verify that

krp 500m has the highest blacks of any plasma or screen to date
it is darker than the 101fd but not by much...as attested by gurus.

That is incorrect. the 101fd is the better display... but not by much

not true actually; both panels have some 10g tech in them such that their black levels are identical; you may be thinking of the 111...

500M and the 101 share the same panel.

101 is better because of the longer warranty and the hand picked parts.

Black levels on the 500M and 101 are the same. They have better black levels than the 111 (probably not apparent to the naked eye).

Yes. Extra features are 2 more HDMI inputs and ISF without the need of a patch. The 500M has an internal audio amp for optional speakers which the 101 does not have.

The Pro_111 has a tuner while the Pro 101 is a monitor without a tuner!

The difference between the 500 and the 101 are the number of inputs. The 101 has 4 hdmi while the 500only has 2 hdmi..

You forgot to also mention the ISF, the extra year warranty and the 500M internal amp that I mentioned 2 posts above yours.

Thumbs up

I'll take any 9G Kuro over any-other display made, and probably any 2010 (hell 2011...) display too. When black levels are 0.001fL - 0.000fL on my 5020, 111 & 151 , I'll bet blacks all day long with the KRP's and signature series models. Sure with calibration equipment you might see and often do see slightly lower but where can you go from 0.000fL....? I wish my BB would have had the 101's back late 2008 when I started buying Kuros, but I'm more then happy! Good stuff!

The black level between 151/111 and my 101 are not something you measure , It is seen with the eye ,not a slight difference, a noticeable difference , the 101 is much blacker, overall the pic quality between all the Pioneer 9g's is the same/very close IMO . I will have better info when my 101 gets calibrated ,I will get a pro calibrators opinion.
