Bubble Bobble is pretty dang good. I love that game on the NES, too, and play it all the time. I also got that one for the Wii in the enhanced version, and they did a pretty good job with it there.

As far as my favorite MAME title, I might have to go with Street Fighter II. Donkey Kong is also a classic that's nice to have on a huge screen with 7.1 surround (although of course the audio on those games isn't 7.1).

The list could go on and on. I pretty much stick to the classics.

I use MAME now and then. Before getting the SE disc from Mortal Kombat Deception, I played some old MK1 on it. Also played Ninja Turtles, The Simpsons, Jr. Pac Man, and some of the Sailor Moon side-scrolling beat 'em ups from Japan.

There also a bunch of games that I would play on MAME were it not for the fact that I have them on PS2 compilations.

I just reformatted the HTPC in my living room (main home theater), and I went with Windows Media Center Edition. Definitely a cool choice as opposed to XP Pro that I had on there before (definitely more media playback-friendly). Anyway, I hadn't loaded up my emulators yet until last night, when I got started with MAME. Man oh man, do I love MAME! If I had the space, I'd certainly have a MAME cabinet.

Have you thought about building one of these?

This is mine. This is an original Pac-Man cabinet that was a VS Volleyball when I got it. I sanded the whole thing down, repaired the bottom corners then primed it. I then color matched the proper color of yellow with a scrap of wood I removed from the inside and painted the cabinet. I installed the new orange T-Moulding and new marquee. The control panel is fine for the games I have loaded on it, I have a Street Fighter style made, just have to get it wired up and installed. This is the artwork I'm having made, with slight modifications.

Curious why you didn't go with Win7.

Default Arcade Games In The Home

Does anyone have an old arcade game at home? I'm talking about the big cabinets or the sit down cocktail cabinets from the 80's. I have a few in my garage, and was just wondering if I'm alone in this hobby/obsession.

What I have right now:

Joust
Gyruss
Rally-X
Scramble
Zaxxon
Time Pilot '84
Arkanoid
Wizard Of Wor
Stratovox
Space Invaders
Q*Bert
Super Cobra
Carnival
Heavy Barrel
Alien Syndrome
Stargate

I started out wanting one for my garage/bar/gameroom. It turned into two, then three, then five. After a while I had games in every free space in my garage and a closet full of parts and pieces from games. Artwork, spare PCBs, monitors, buttons and joysticks. I really need a 12 step program.

Showoff! I don't have a garage or a dedicated game room, but if I did, I'd fill it with vintage cabs if I could. I would love a sit-down Ms. Pac-Man.

I have done it, but the whole time I was

I found a guy that does it for $50 parts included. For me it's a very fair price considering what's involved. Discharching the anode is very scary and very dangerous. But as far as everything else, I have pretty much done it. Have you been to any arcade auctions? I've picked up working monitors for $25-$50. I've even picked up fully working cabinets for that price.

No i have never been to an arcade auction, that sounds pretty awesome. Is it just like a big swap meet of sorts?

I wish I had the money to either buy a cab or had the elctronics know how to make a super gun. one day I hope. I've already bout Virtua Fighter Remix and Virtua Fighter kids carts for STV Sega Titian Video just need the rest sometime. Also been having my eye on a Willow cab that's close to me but I have no means to haul it or keep it at the moment since I'm in an apartment.

If you guys don't have the time to build your DIY Arcade Cabinet, maybe you should consider this:

And then ask Rob where to find some cool artwork and it will look like a genuine Arcade Cabinet.

I know a guy that has one of those and it's a pretty good design. He bought it back before the PS3/Xbox 360 came out so it has the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube in it. I've offered to do the updates to it to make it PS3/Xbox360/Wii compatible, but he's just fine with the older systems...

Cool to have some feedbacks. I might consider it one day, since we are getting more Classic Arcade Games on the PSN. The only downside is the 2 players set-up. I already have Gauntlet II, Rampart, Championship Sprint and Rampage World Tour as 3-player games.

LOL I just watched The Princess Bride last night! Anyways my cousin and some arcade games, but he sold them. He had an arcade wrestling game, and some scroll along fighter game. I can't remember the name though.
