Is the UK version of this Bluray at 50Hz like Life or 60Hz? If so I'm either going to have to send both Blurays back or buy a convert.

This is the UK Version. The American version of this Programme is called How the Earth Changed History; and yes the UK version is encoded in 50 Hz Just like Life. Here is the link to the American version:

Thanks man. I either have to take the plunge and buy a region free bluray player and frequency converter because this will be the third time now that I have ordered from the UK that I can't use because of either region locking or being at a different frequency. I wish it was easier to tell because I get a lot of blurays from amazon UK that work on my US PS3 and Sony bluray player. Do you know if I bought a bluray drive for a PC would I be able to view 50Hz blurays? Thanks again man.

With pc blu ray drives you can watch any blu ray regardless of the region code. The drive will give you the option to change the region up to 5 times. then it will be locked. if the blu is Region all or ABC the pc drive will not change your region code. it is a well known fact that ALL BBC blus up to now are region free but are coded @ 50 Hz (EXCEPT for Planet Earth which was 24 Hz which is universal HD frequency. There are blu ray players such as the LG BD 370 and up that will play region free BDs recorded in 50Hz without the need for a converter. I hope this helps. PM me if I can be of further help.... And welcome to the forum
