New Disgaea for PS3 announced?!

Today 「Nippon Ichi Software」 revealed plans for another 「Disgaea」 PS3 title in their next fiscal year. This is in response to its financial earnings this current fiscal year — which was down 97.5% during the first nine months.



As you can see from the graph above, total shipments for the 「Disgaea」 series this current fiscal year were on the rise — around 1.6 million copies were sold. Take note that domestic sales are represented in blue, whereas overseas sales are identified in purple.

So their recovery plan so far mentions the release of 8 new titles in the next fiscal year — one of them being a new Disgaea game for the Playstation 3 system. Six of these titles will be original.

In addition, the company does plan to focus more on overseas markets. They mention specifically the PlayStation 3 and North America as its central focus for overseas business expansion.

Very exciting news for Disgaea fans and RPG enthusiasts in general. At the moment, no details have been revealed about the upcoming Disgaea PS3 title. We don’t even know if it’ll be called Disgaea 4 or not. But we’ll keep you posted.

It's real.

Though it isn't necessarily Disgaea 4, it is just said to be a game from that series, so it could well be a spin off.

Yeah it could be that Disgaea Infinite that American is getting on PSP this May that I posted a couple of weeks ago or it could be like those Prinny games(though doubt it because the 2nd one of that series hasn't made it to Japan). It can even be like a Disgaea 3.5 or even remakes of the 1st 2 since we know how NIS likes to remake those Disgaea games like how they did with the 1st one on PSP then DS and now the 2nd one on PSP. Just so many possibilities.

It's definitely a PS3 game though. Other than that yes, anyone's guess is a good one.

Well if it's PS3 PSN download then the ones I mentioned are not too far off of what it could be but if it's PS3 Blu-ray disc then that's a whole different story.
