Don't know what it will look like, but I am definitely going to get this one. Hopefully they throw a lot of extras on it.

My fear is that this will have zero extras. This is one of very few movies that I would actually watch extras on.

Thank God! One of my most highly-anticipated Blu-ray releases. Here's hoping it looks and sounds brilliant (in it's full-screen version) and ports over all extras from the Ultimate Edition.

I'd be shocked if it's the non-cropped version. Wasn't the cropped widescreen version an official Sam Raimi approved transfer? Considering this is for HD setups, they'll probably stick with that. Personally, I'd prefer both versions be available on the same disc, but I won't hold my breath on that one. We'll see what they come up with.

This will be pretty sweet. One of the best horror movies made. Wide and full screen on one disk would be ideal. Either way, I'm picking this up. Keep that grain!

I'm hoping they'll re-release EDII at some point without the excessive DNR.

The cropped version was Sam Raimi approved, but it was just that: cropped. I don't know why he ever approved that version, money maybe? Half the shot's have Bruce Campbell's famous chin cut-off.

I guess either version can be considered "official" because from everything I have heard when Evil Dead was shown in the theaters it was matted down and cropped. I can only assume the "bad framing" was from Sam Raimi's inexperience since it was his first film.

I myself prefer the 4:3 version.

I'll pass. Anchor Bay will mess this release up just like they did with Evil Dead 2.

Why not wait till reviews come out before making a decision like that? ED2 was an early release. They might nail this one. I'm taking a wait and see here.

Dont make a judgment before you see the final product. Also, remember that Studio Canal helped create the transfer for ED2 so they were part of the problem aswell. They have nothing to do with ED1 so we may get a good transfer from AB.
