Who could play Kurt Cobain? - Blu-ray Forum

Now I'm not a huge Nirvana fan by any stretch, but the idea of a Cobain biopic definitely intrigues me. It sounds like this thing is starting to get off the ground, and while they've named the writer, director, and producers, there's been no talk of who would take on the lead role.

well in 2005...someone named Michael Pitt already did for Gus Van Sant:

And BRAD Pitt (ugh) was supposedly attached to one years ago...

I think Sam Jackson would make a great cobain. He's proved he's really good at dying on screen, and nobody seemed to care to notice when he showed as Nick Fury, so why not.

But in all seriousness, Michael Pitt is a pretty established actor, he's also in the upcoming Boardwalk Empire for Marty Scorsese on HBO.

If he doesn't get the role, I'm sure that he'll be seriously considered... which is unfortunate all in itself.

I think that Ben Foster should do it. Only makes since, he just worked with Overman on The Messenger and was absolutely brilliant.

That would be the only way they'd make me care enough about Cobain to watch, cause I've been a fan of Foster's for well over a decade now, and not many young actors could pull this off. Kurt was 27, so I don't wanna see a 50 year old playing him. Like Keanu with bleached hair, lol.

How about Owen Wilson? He's been depressed and doped up for the last couple years he'd fit into the role perfectly.

Yeah, I've had my eye on him since Six Feet Under and I'm sure he'd do a phenomenal job.

Back in 1996, when I was 11, I used to watch Ben on a show called Fast Forward, it was a Canadian show that aired on the Disney channel in the US and he was the star. After that ended I'd see him here and there in movies off and on, and than a few years ago he started getting lots of great roles.

Ben Foster is an excellent pick, but I think Ryan Gosling would also do a great job. Regardless, whoever gets this role is going to get a lot of award buzz.

Wow....since I dont know who Ben Foster is...looking at that picture...sort of eerie to me. That picture alone looks like a bit older Kurt.

I think Owen Wilson would be better playing Rod Stewart, he looks just like him!

I'm not a fan of Cobain,i'm not gay but Cobain was like 10x better looking than Ben Foster and he didn't have a big head(hydrocephalus)like Foster!
