Default Blu-ray.com Tournament - New Line Region 4th Round (Great 8) Come Vote!!

Ok this is the New Line portion of the Great 8! Just to be clear for some of those that dont follow march madness here is how it works. This poll will have 2 films but they are in a matchup. U only vote for 1 of those films to advance. This will be opened for 3 days which is plenty of time to get your votes in. The winner of this matchup will advance to the Final 4.

Also this is not a best of or favorites matchup. I would say vote based on the overall take of the film u either feel is better or that u like better or a combination of both! Its up to u of what films to vote for and why. Below is the bracket link for this region just to make sure u understand what the matchups are. Here we go. Lets get this started!! Got Em!!

I went for Iron Man, because we've already got one star wars movie in the mix.

I figured I'd go with Star Wars easily when we got to this point looking at the first round bracket.

But...I didn't expect Iron Man to be in the final match up.

I love both movies, but if I had to pick which one I would rather watch at any given moment, it would be Iron Man over this particular Star Wars movie almost every time (it is my 2nd least favorite among the 6). The only Star Wars movie I'd pick over Iron Man is Empire.

Iron Man.

As good as Star Wars was, watching giant robots beat the crap out of each other is better IMO.

Ironman, no contest. If it were against Empire, I'd think twice.

But then still vote for ironman.

Unbelievable! There is no way at all Iron Man should be leading this, it shouldn't even be close. I love Iron Man too but c'mon!!! This is Star Wars! The one that started it all! This is movie going history, a movie that changed movies. It better make a comeback and win this freakin' poll!

Well im going iron mann even though New hope is better. Empire already rolled some movies it shouldnt have and to be honest the top vote getter in each trilogy should have been the only let in the tournament, so since empire is already in the final four, a new hope must go down.

No point in having fanboys of each trilogy keep voting for the trilogy movies over and over its overkill.

Yes, but that should all be stripped away and just the actual movies be compared

Of which, imo, Iron Man easily takes it.

Um,....I'm calling BS on that.

So what if they are from the same trilogy? They all happen to actually be quite good.

Restricting to one movie per series for this tournament (or any) would have been stupid and makes no sense. They are separate movies and people voted for them separately. Did you see the prequels or Alien 3 and 4 even make it on the list or Godfather II make it past....did it even make the list?, or Return of the Jedi or Two Towers go very far? NO.
Just because they are sequels and from the same series does not automatically guarantee them votes. I voted for Empire without hesitation, yet I didn't vote for A New Hope.

They earned their seeds, they get to be in the tournament.

Well techinacally Empire should have been a 2 or 3 seat by how many votes it got cause it was the same as a new hope. But my point being not every trilogies fanboys are as diehard or even as high numbered. And some where spread across a long time with different directors or writers. Either way pretty much everyone who voted for empire for the most part is gonna vote for new hope same with fellowship and return. Unless like i said they face off against a movie said person might enjoy better than one in a trilogy that might be a little weaker. Thats why Jedi, Two towers, doom, crusade fell off earlier cause they arent as popular. Its overkill to have that many movies of the same series in the tournament. Especially how was Star wars not in sci fi so it stole 3 fantasy spots.

Look at the votes for the trilogies back in qualifing rounds there pretty damn close meaning most people who voted for 1 voted for all 3.

Empire 72
Hope 72
Jedi 48

So most likely that 48 is the same 48 who voted for the other 2, there might be a person here or there that actually liked jedi the most and didnt vote for the other 2 but i doubt there were many.

fellowship 63
two towers 55
Return 78

once again most likely the greater percentage of those 55 votes where for all 3.

raiders 92
doom 41
crusade 66

same deal theres more of a spacing on the voting on these 3 movies which explains why doom and crusade got knocked off earlier.

Iron man is winning for the same reason I voted for Iron Man

We all want a bit of diversity, it will come down to 2 star wars films, Indiana jones and Lord of the rings.
