can cover art ink damage blu ray disks?

i printed out a custom cover and was wondering if the ink from the cover art could possibly damage the blu ray disk, like fumes or something. Do producers f real cover art use any kind of special ink or paper? i used glossy photo paper and an ink jet printer.

Are you talking about cover art on the outside of the case or a label on the disk?

any hypothetical fumes wouldn't go into a closed case anyway.

Not sure, but from all the labels that I have printed for audio and video disc, I have never had any of them to fault the disc. However, I have had labels bubble up.

proffesionaly made covers or homemade covers?

i meant home made disc labels? or ones that came on the disc?

Most inkjet printer ink is water-based, so there aren't really any fumes to worry about generated by the inks. And, the cover art is enclosed behind a plastic film on the outside of the case, so the disc inside is pretty well protected. I've printed over 1000 covers for DVDs in my collection, and probably about 50 Blu-ray covers so far...
