Default Klipsch HD Theater 500

Does anyone have this speaker system? I want to know what do you guys think about these? I wanted to get floor standing speakers just that I live in a apartment and decided to go for satelite speakers. Also any reccomendations on receivers?

I will be the first to say, don't get that. The Sat speakers have a low end frequency range only to 150 hz and that means there will be a good amount of directionality from your sub, meaning you will know that the sub is coming from where ever you set it down at. Not only that but they only have 2.5" drivers, that is tiny. And a 3/4" tweeter. The Jamo's below have a larger driver 4" and a 1" tweeter, better response in terms of frequency too.

A good small system would be to get something like these speaker and put up 4 of them and then 1 of these center channels

Total about $239 and then add this sub for $230 and for less then $500 you have a better system.

And just in case you weren't sure who Jamo is, they are owned by Klipsch, so its not some fly by night speaker company, they have been making speakers for 30-40 yrs.

Those speakers look nice. The reason I am asking is I would be getting these speakers for $210 plus tax since I have a $300 BB gift card and $40 of RZ. I would like bigger speakers just that for the moment I would like to get something small. I don't want to bother the neighbors with a big thumping system. After I get myself a better place that is when I will be getting floorstanding speakers.

Also for the meantime the wife wants small speakers.

well the size of the klipsch and Jamo speakers are basically the same size. I checked that for your before posting it as I thought it was part of the consideration.

And honestly if you like the Jamos you can just get some of their C 605 or C 607 towers later and not have to make huge changes. These aren't going to blast the neighbors either, Jamo speakers have a nice neutral to warm sound, so you and your wife will really like them as they will be easy on the ears. I understand keeping it inexpensive, too.

Short term and long term, this would be a better buy.

the other thing you could do is take the BB card and get a Polk sub from BB, and then there is less out of pocket money you need to spend, and use the BB cards for Dynex sub cables and some speaker wire.

That looks like a great little system. Thinking of adding that to my kids play room. Thanks.

I hate the use of "HD" for marketing gimmicks, but the speakers look nice.
