Default Sony S360 Audio Sync Problem [Solved]

I just bought a new Sony S360 player for my TV downstairs and I popped in King Kong to test it out. The picture is great but the audio was out of sync. I tried various settings on the player (switching everything to downmix and such) but had no luck. The player is connected to the TV via HDMI. The audio comes out of my TV and into my receiver via analog stereo. The receiver is an ADCOM (very old but still very good).

I haven't tried connecting the player's audio out right into my receiver yet. Do you think that could be the issue? If not what could it be? The TV is an older Samsung (720p), but I don't have the model number on me at the moment. Maybe the audio processor is too slow? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh and get this...I once moved my PS3 down there and used the same exact setup and had ZERO issues. Now that I remembered that I am truly lost here and need some help. Thanks.

Solved my own problem lol. The issue was that I was using an old HDMI 1.2 cable with doesn't support the Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats. HDMI 1.3b also has automatic audio syncing capability. Problem solved.

I have a different type of audio problem with this machine.
I recently bought this player and hooked it up via an inexpensive HDMI cable ($30). The salesman said it would do the trick just as well as the more expensive one.

The picture is beautiful. The audio is terrible. Special effects sound okay, but the dialogue is very very quiet. Difficult to hear.

Could it be my cable? A faulty Blu Ray player? Any suggestions? I am so bummed, I want to hook up my old cheap DVD player instead now!

I'm sure it's not a cable problem. I'm guessing your going direct to your TV and playing sound through it and there's no AV Receiver involved. See this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-pl...dmi-audio.html and try the suggestions here assuming this is the case. Probably easier yet, if your going direct to TV, is change the Audio Output Priority in the player to stereo analog and connect a pair of RCA cables for the audio.
