Exclamation So I thought Blockbuster was exclusive to Blu-ray...

I was in a local blockbuster today and they had an HDDUD on the wall for rent...granted it was only one in the whole store, but it was still an HDDUD none the less. so then i was logged in to my blockbuster online account to check and see if they shipped me Disturbia yet, and they had the Disturbia HDDUD listed for sale on there, I don't think that falls under exclusive to Blu-Ray.

EDIT: I also noticed I can add HDDUDs to my queue...I admit I have never tried it before and so I don't know that they always supported this or not, but I was under the impression that blockbuster was blu only....

Blockbuster still carries HD-DVD in the original 250 test stores and online, but all expansion into new stores will be Blu only.

Blockbuster is going Blu exclusive in all of their brick and mortar locations. However, they will still offer HD DVD online and in the original stores where both Blu and HD-DVD were offered (test marketing). I think it was around 200 or so locations but don't quote me on that. Based on those trial stores they found Blu to be the more desirable format among renters and decided to expand Blu-ray to all of their store locations over the following months. There are other threads about this too, if you want more info.

Thanks for clarifying and I will search in the future as I usually do that first before posting, but I guess I got lazy today....

O.K. If your local Blockbuster was one of the first 250 pilot stores to stock hi-def movies, then you will have hd-dvd discs in you store. Blockbuster will go blu-ray exclusive in the other 1400+ stores nation wide. As for online, blockbuster have always said hd-dvd would be available.
