Alright, sold my PS3 a while back so I got the Panasonic BD60 as a replacement since it supports bitstreaming and whatnot. However, when using HDMI on my monitor, the picture is fine, as well as when I hook it up directly to my TV. But, when I hook it up to my Pioneer VSX-819-HK with HDMI, then run another HDMI cable to the TV, the screen just flashes and I can't do anything. I updated to the latest Firmware, and it obviously didn't help.
Any thoughts? |

Just a few suggestions which you probably have done already. Double check your connections that out of the player is going to BD in etc. (yeah I know it rates up there with is it plugged in but dumber things have happened

Make sure the HDMI control options are set correctly for all components ie TV,AVR and BD P60..They should be set to "ON"..Instructions will be found in each of the relevant manuals and can be done before you try connecting everything via HDMI..

New problem; when I connect the player to the TV with component cables, and use the HDMI for audio, everything works perfectly, but the catch is that I can't have an HDMI cable connected to the TV from the receiver. As soon as the HDMI cable from the receiver is plugged in, the image goes nuts like usual. I have no idea what the problem is.

I would have to say that if the player works directly hooked to the tv then the problem must be with your receiver or your hdmi cables. Have you tried different cables? And triple check that all of the settings on your reciever are correct. Did it work fine before with the ps3? Or have you changed anything since?

Do you have any other devices that use HDMI currently going to the receiver? If not then you currently don't need HDMI going from the receiver to the TV. If yes then I assume everything is fine without the player hooked up at all. If your getting screwed up video from just audio hooked up like above then that says there's something wrong in audio compatibility which I'm not sure what that would be. You could always try changing your audio output to something like 2 channel stereo in the player as a troubleshooting technique to see if the audio has something to do with it. Your receiver setting for HDMI audio is set to AMP correct and not thru? AMP is the default. |
