Smile Gamer vs Surrogates

They are quite similar films, but I like Gamer best. Give me your suggestions thanks.

Neither one is very good, but Gamer is at least entertaining. I think I dozed off during some of Surrogates.

Slight edge to Gamer ---but not much. They both let me down.

I don't really think they're all that similar. But Surrogates was a great movie.

My buddy just told me to stay away from Gamer at all costs. He said he wanted to shut it off it was so bad. We both saw Surrogates and liked it.

So far I've only seen Surrogates. It was decent, but nothing spectacular. I passed up Gamer because I saw everywhere that it was so terrible. However, since most people here are saying it's somewhat better than Surrogates I think I'll check it out after all.

I havent seen Gamer and probably wont, but Surrogates was a total waste of a very interesting concept. Boring and ultimately pointless.

Gamer was good old fashioned action. Sci-fi action, but action nonetheless.

That doesn't mean the films are in any way similar.

2001 and Star Wars are both Space Movies. But they couldn't be more different.

I agree; "Gamer" is very perverse and hard-edged, with wild cameramanship and lots of cheesy moments. "Surrogates" is nowhere near as intense, but is not as trashy either. Their stories are different, even if their premises are vaguely similar. Their characters are very different. Themes are different (...do they even have themes? ).

Between the two, I actually enjoyed "Gamer" more and found it buy-worthy, but I can tell that it's pretty bad. I wanted to like "Surrogates," but found it a little too dull.

I'm on board with most everyone here. Neither were great but I'd say Gamer. It at least had some good ol' speaker pumping action! Surrogates was just plain lame!

I liked both of them but they didn't really strike me as being all that alike (although after reading some of the comments, I see where the comparison is coming from). I think it really depends on what style of movie you're looking for. I thought Gamer was more over-the-top action-wise (although they do go pretty extreme with some of their ideas as well) so in some ways it was more fun but Surrogates was really over-the-top is some of its ideas (about how far stuff like that could go) so I thought that was pretty interesting.
