Collectors Editions

Does anyone here ever buy the collectors editions instead of the regular versions? I never have, but there are a few I would like to have. I finally ordered the Legendary Edition of Halo 3 tonight. Here's a sample pic. I'll post a real pic once I receive it.



I also want to get the Batman: Arkham Asylum collectors edition at some point. I'll probably get this one for the PS3.



I'm debating on trying to get ahold of the collectors edition for Bioshock. The Big Daddy figurine looks pretty neat.

I got the regular edition of Bioshock 2 but the Collectors edition was pretty awesom. I just have a hard time paying 20-30 extra bucks for these things.

The Resident Evil 4 Collectors Edition is pretty cool.

I almost always get the CE versions of games when I can. I wish I had just downloaded the PC version of Batman when it was on sale though.

I only get the CE's of games if it's actually worth it. GTA4 had a bunch of cool stuff. I got Bioshock 1 and it came with the awesome soundtrack and a badass Big Daddy action figure.

I got the special edition of "Fallout 3" with the lunchbox, the special edition of "Prince of Persia" with the additional DVD, and the special steelbook edition of "Resident Evil 5" with the action figure and necklace and stuff.

I also did pick up a special edition of "BlazBlu" with a bonus soundtrack, but since I didn't care for the game I'll probably keep the music and sell the game.

Same here, I love Collector's Edition, they look so good! And most of the time there's some awesome stuff included.

I have a habit of buying the Limited/Collectors Edition everytime I can because I feel it's really worth it with all the goodies they throw in it!

The most recent Collector's Edition I bought was of course, BioShock 2!

Next, I'll be moving on on God of War III: ULTIMATE EDITION!!

I am not usually a fan of the CE stuff, dont usually see the need for all the extra junk.... but I have pre ordered the Ultimate Edition of GOW3 shown above because well look at it, it kicks ass! The box will look great in my HT and I cant wait to hear the metal comp. that comes with it as well as the soundtracks from GOW 1+2+3.

I go for collectors editions when they are available. I have them for Metal Gear Solid 3-4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1-2, Resident Evil 5, FF12, Growlanser Generations, and some others. Many of my games were only sold as CEs, like many Working Designs and NIS titles.

I've made a few CE purchases, although there are a couple out there I missed that I would have liked (Bioshock 1 and Halo 3: Legendary)

Some of the ones I have collected are:

Bioshock 2 Xbox 360 CE
Assassin's Creed 2 Ps3 CE
Mass Effect 2 CE (Steelbook! )

I would really like that GoW 3 CE, but I don't think Canada is getting it

That Batman: AA CE is also pretty cool, but the batarang didn't come off the stand (and it's plastic)

I ordered my GOW Ultimate Edition at EB Games, amazon.ca had it as well but currently sold out.

I think when I get Bioshock 2 I'll get the CE of that one as well. CdnClu there are still Halo 3 Legendary editions out there that you can get. I got mine for just under $60. It's been opened, but the game and bonus disc are still wrapped.

The Halo 3 Legendary can still be purchased direct from amazon.com for $56 I don't believe these were very limited. The bioshock 1 edition is crazy though cheapest from 3rd party new is like $250.

I almost never buy the CEs of games because I usually trade them in when I am done and buy new ones. I bought the metal tin Halo 2 but sold it a long time ago.

I only get CE of games that I love. Which ... happen to be a lot.

The only time I buy the collectors edition is if it comes with something really cool. The last time I did was for Grand Theft Auto IV because it came inside a lock box in a duffle bag.

Very rarely do I buy them. I pick them up if they are either super awesome or on sale at a great price. I just don't have room in my bedroom to display a lot of special edition stuff.

Soul Calibur IV (PS3) - This special edition really sucks. Only got in because it was on sale.
Madden 2009 (PS) - Very nice 20th anniversary special edition.
Metal Gear Solid IV (PS3) - Amazing edition with sweet box and game soundtrack.
Metroid Prime Trilogy (Wii) - Great steelbook.
Modern Warfare 2 (PS3) - Nice steelbook/art book edition.
Prince of Persia (PS3) - Special edition sucks. Another I bought only because it was on sale.

Very rarely do I have any regrets purchasing a CE/LE. If it has special features that appear worthwhile, a cool case (steel book is always a plus), and a figurine or something I'll tend to lean towards getting the CE/LE as long as I have an interest in the game in the first place.
