Default One Tree Hill

One of the best shows ever in my estimation, hasn't been the same this season but as far as I can tell, it's the last one. Excellent mix of basketball, relationship drama and comedy for sure. Kind of sad it's winding down but all good things do come to an end.

For me the show ended at the season 4 finale "All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone" that was perfect. I really loved the first 4 seasons, but after that time jump it was never the same. Too me it just feels like they keep dragging it out making it more watered down and a very sorry version of what it once was. But again the first 4 seasons where great, back when I still loved Brooke....can't believe how pathetic they've made her since than.

Kind of have to agree. The high school years on the show were the best and it was still very good until they wrote off Lucas and Peyton, now it's just okay. I think it's best that they're ending it now, before it goes bad. Believe it will become the 5th show I own at least 7 seasons of.

I liked the first season but I'm just not that into drama TV shows to continue it. It's good though and Sophia Bush is beautiful.

As of last week, Dawn Ostroff is still discussing whether they want to renew OTH or not. Fans love it, but creatively the CW is understandably not happy with it. But who knows it could be renewed anyways, at this point it's down to OTH or the new Life UneXpected. So it could go either way.

Honestly I love the show and I'll miss it when it's gone but I'm not sure that there's enough left for them to cover for it to have an 8th season. The preview for April was "final four episodes", I took that to mean the show was coming to an end, guess it was just me misinterpreting what they meant.

Yeah you know like I said for me, the show ended 4 years ago, I really don't wish for them to completely destroy whatever is left for the remaining fans. As for "final four" at this point it is just of the season. I'll let you know as as soon as a decision is made, but as of yesterday, here is what Dawn said:

According to our contacts at the CW things are looking much darker for Life Unexpected which has gone from 50/50 to highly unlikely to return. This does not however mean that things are much brighter for One Tree Hill which is still very much on the bubble - though it is more likely to be renewed than LUX at this point despite being so much more expensive. Due to it's costs it is also unlikely to move to SOAPNET if the CW were to cancel it. The problem at the CW is with all their renewals they only plan on picking up 3 to 4 of HMS, BETWIXT, Nikita, Nomads,Untitled horse farm drama, Hellcats, One Tree Hill and Melrose Place (which is considered pretty much dead at this point). The success of High Society could also make things even more competitive. At this point don't be surprised if come May, the CW doesn't renew anything else and just picks up 3 to 4 pilots.

I'd be interested to know what pilots are being considered by the CW for the fall.

See that was why I started this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/television...n-arrival.html to begin with, but i quit updating it because nobody even bothered to discuss any of the pilots or gave me feedback, i spent a lot of time putting it together but nobody cared so I quit. But I know I did post up some stuff including casting on the CW, before I stopped.

Especially considering the MAIN STAR isn't even on the show anymore.

I liked this show the first four years as well, it was a decent show to watch. 5 was meh at best, 6 decent to start and suck in the later episodes. This year...yea, I've watched some of the episodes to see what it is like now....its not even the same show.

The main star to me is Brooke Penelope Davis. Lucas was never the star, he was just a main character. I will say losing -
Dan
Lucas
Peyton
Karen
Deb
Keith
Has hurt the show a LOT, the people they've replaced them with aren't as good/interesting. Not to mention in the first 5, 5 1/2 seasons they were all striving for/towards something, doesn't feel like that any more.

How is Brooke the star?

The premise of the show is the two brothers (at least it used to be ), so Lucas and Nathan were the two main characters.

Yeah the 2 brothers are the premise for the show but it seems like Brooke is the main character to me, heck Lucas isn't even on the show any more and Nathan's not on it as much as he used to be.

Murray is gone because....well, does anyone really know why they got rid of him? Stupid decision.

Nathan was never that interesting of a main character to me. Supporting character, sure.

Keith was the coolest character though
He was the Jonathan Kent of this show to me

Yeah Keith was awesome. Murray and Burton got married on the show and then moved away, I hope they at least come back for the series finale.

Considering how pissed Murray was at his being written off, don't think he'll be back, only Burton had planned to leave way ahead of time. The video of Murray telling fans he just found out it was his last day of shooting, cause they didn't want him on the show anymore, very wounded, but amusing to me.

Wow yeah if they didn't really tell him in advance, I'm not surprised. I usually don't like Chad Michael but he was really good as the tormented jock, Lucas Eugene Scott.
