Well they are just gonna start shooting the pilot this month to air in the fall season, if it does get picked up. Considering CBS gets hard for anything O'Loughlin does which is why this is his 3rd series for them, they are dieing to keep him and with Jin fresh off of Lost, very good chance this makes it. But yeah it won't be till the fall, probably September at the earliest.

Pilot status report: 'Hawaii Five-O' among top bets for fall
Quote:

Rough cuts of pilots in contention for next season are starting to trickle into the broadcast networks, and some very early front-runners are emerging.

Such pole position titles are often replaced a few times during the weeding-out process as more footage comes into the networks. At this stage, name-recognition titles like CBS' "Hawaii Five-O" and NBC's "Rockford Files" continue to enjoy a halo effect, but some fresh titles are also turning heads.

Over on CBS, "Hawaii Five-O" sealed the deal with a pilot screening that went great.

Eh. I don't think this needed a remake. Just call it something else and you're golden.

Just updated for you guys who messaged me seeking more info and some photos. Far as I know there hasn't been a public release of the trailer, but I'll keep you updated if anything develops.

After seeing the trailer and opening I think the show looks really good. Never saw the original but the new one looks pretty action packed and better then some of the shows on TV now. Hope this show can last for awhile if it turns out to be good.

Unfortunately, it will be going head-to-head against "Castle", Monday's at 10. Maybe I'll DVR it once or twice.

Thanks for that trailer link. I guess for the first time in years i'm actually going to watch CBS. They have two cops shows I'm very interested in, this of course and Tom Selleck's new show Blue Bloods. Selleck FTW!

It's got Grace Park from Battlestar Galactica and Daniel Dae Kim from Lost. Plus, I love Hawaii. I don't normally watch cop shows, but I'll definitely check this one out.

I just hope Scott Caan isn't as annoying as he was in Into the Blue...

Really???? Every article I read only briefly mentioned it in his engagement announcement lol. So I couldn't find anything more than "guest star" I'd love to see him as a recurring, cause this is going to be CBS' breakout hit of the season.

Just discovered a 3:43 Extended Sneak Peek of the pilot. This show definitely looks pretty damn cool. I'll be checking it out just cause I'm a Scott Caan fan. But having Jin onboard is also pretty cool. Not to mention James Marsters!! Oh yeah and James Marsters brother on the show.............from Boondock Saints Norman Reedus!!!!!!!

THIS JUST IN… “HAWAII FIVE-0″ SAYS ALOHA TO COMIC-CON
Quote:
Panel Session with Series’ Stars and Creative Team on Friday, July 23

Kicks Off a Tsunami of H50 Celebrations

HOLLYWOOD, CA – July 1, 2010 – For the return of HAWAII FIVE-0, one of television’s most iconic series, CBS has assembled a team of genre giants: Executive Producers Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek) and Peter Lenkov (R.I.P.D.), Director Len Wiseman (Underworld), and stars Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) and Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica). They’ll be on site to celebrate all things H50 at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego.

FRIDAY, JULY 23 – THE PANEL

H50: ALOHA EARTH (10:15-11:15 AM, Room 6BCF) – Lost castaway found! Battlestar Cylon becomes human! Star Trek writers return from space! A supernatural force has drawn some of sci-fi’s giants back to Earth – and they’re all gathering on a beautiful and mysterious island in the Pacific. It’s HAWAII FIVE-0, a modern day reimagining of one of television’s most iconic classics. The epic series, one of the most anticipated new shows of the season, will explore the origins of the Five-0 team and build on an already rich mythology. Join Executive Producers Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek) and Peter M. Lenkov (24), Director Len Wiseman (Underworld), and stars Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) and Grace Park (Battlestar Galactica) for an exclusive sneak peek at the series and an in-depth discussion on how they plan to marry their genre sensibilities with a classic police procedural.

In addition to the H50 panel – where fans will have an opportunity to win three cast signed collector’s surfboards — there will be autograph signings by the cast and producers at the CBS Booth (# 4129), exclusive giveaways and a chance to win a vacation getaway to the filming location of H50 on the tropical and vibrant island of Oahu.

For the latest updates on all things HAWAII FIVE-0 and behind-the-scenes coverage of Comic-Con 2010, follow us at http://www.cbs.com/HawaiiFive0, http://www.twitter.com/HawaiiFive0CBS #H50 and http://www.twitter.com/CBSTweet.

Heroes Star Masi Oka joins Cast
Quote:
After squinting his eyes and time-hopping around the globe to save the world as Heroes' Hiro Nakamura, Masi Oka has signed on to help Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) and his team investigate murders on CBS's Hawaii Five-0 reboot.

He'll debut in the fourth episode as the coroner and be billed as a guest star. But with the body count expected to spike considerably in Oahu, this coroner could potentially be busy for several seasons.

Also look for original king of comedy D.L. Hughley to appear in Hawaii Five-0's third episode as a character named Skeet. Skeet is described to me as an inmate serving a double life sentence who challenges McGarrett to a game of hoops.

Based on the previews I've seen I will check this out. But I do have one problem...

Book 'em, Danno!

It doesn't sound right being said in a slick, 2010 produced cop show. For some reason I always assumed that this was one of those classic sayings that was never actually said. Much like the heavily quoted, but never said, "Beam me up, Scotty" from Star Trek. But it turns out that Danno had to book a lot perps. And had to be told to do it by his Partner.

I'm hoping in this version the conversation will go like this:

Steve McGarrett: Book 'em, Danno!
Danny "Danno" Williams: Book him? Book him you say!? What a novel thing to do when we have caught a criminal.

I'm really impressed with the cast that they're putting together. I'm not a big fan of the original Hawaii Five-O, but the remake has me intrigued.

The original ended years before I was born, so outside of the opening credits I'm not the least bit informed on it. I like Scott Caan, have been a fan of his since A Boy Called Hate about 15 years ago, so i will check this out just to see how he does here. Hell he's the only reason I watch Entourage.
