Default Koyaanisqatsi

Would LOVE to see this film with an 8k scan that Baraka received on Blu-ray.

Absolutely, but better would be a box set with Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi. The DVD issued by MGM wasn't as good as the limited, signed open matte edition issued independently

Criterion is working on these movies, hopefully on Blu as well. Just a heads up, the first and third movie have a lot of archive footage, so they might not look extremely good. They also weren't filmed on 70mm, so they'll never look as good as Baraka.

Do you remember that photo they posted on the Criterion twitter? It had a list of supposed titles they were working on. It also supposedly had the Qatsi trilogy on it, but it was very difficult to read. Also, the last time I read that anyone asked about them, they said 'no new news'. I would think that if something had happened that prevented a release from them, we would have known by now. So they're coming, but we just don't know when.

Default Love to see these films restored and scanned to blu-ray

I would love to see these films restored and scanned to blu-ray, although granted this would be more of a public good than a market demand.

KOYAANISQATSI has just been released on Blu-ray in Australia. I still own the SD version and have yet to upgrade, so I cannot yet vouch for the quality.

There is also a German Blu-Ray release.
I wonder which one is better or if there is any difference at all...

Yes, we have both Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqqatsi. No sign of the third one yet, though.

These seem to be licensed copies of the German Koch transfers. As such, they haven't been restored (they're certainly no match for Baraka), and I'm pretty sure they're 1080i, and locked to region B.

I can't find reviews or specs for these listed anywhere, so they haven't made much of a splash. But most BD sites and media only bother about titles once they're released in the US, and sometimes the UK, so I guess it's not really surprising.
