Custom A6-6T6 MTM Center Channel Stand...

Well, I decided to get a center channel to match my mains. The A6-6T6 MTM was my choics (thanks progers). Soooooooo, its time to get going on a custom center channel stand that will put the speaker just above my computer monitor/desk.

Budget: $50.00 ( already went over budget on supplies at Home Depot, $62.00. However, I may be able to return some things, like extra spray paint, if it doesn't get used).

Specs:

*3/4 inch plywood, 4' x 8' piece cut to specific lengths.
*(2) 2 x 2 pine cut to length.
*Top plate: 22.5" x 9"
*Base plate: 26.5" x 13".
*Facade piece: alder wood (stained with redwood and lacquered).
*Paint, screws, rubber feet, wood glue, sand paper, etc...

The guy at Home Depot did the 10 cuts for FREE!!!! Saved me $5.00!

The stands will be about 51 1/2" high. Yes, thats fifty-one and one half inches high.

Speaker will be angled slightly downward toward listening position. Method of angling the speaker is still TBD. The top plate must remain flat. So, something that sits on the top plate will have to be constructed.

Instead of one large column (like my speakers stands) there will be 3 columns supporting the A6-6T6 MTM. One large and hollow (filled with sand), and two that are a bit smaller and solid (hence the 2 x 2 pine above). Each column will have an instep of 1/2 inch for support and aesthetics.

The facade piece will be attached to the center column (like the speaker stands).
