Default Mom finally got LCD TV

For some time now, I have been asking for suggestions about a 32" LCD for my mom.
I'm happy to announce that she's spoiled over the Sony KDL-32S5100. This set is truly awesome!!! It is a full 1080p set, and me and my mom are enjoying both SD and HD programs together!
SD programs (via cable) look pretty good to excellent. Now here's the cool part: we do not have a cable box of any kind -- the tuner on this set auto-programmed 50+ analog channels and 50+ digital channels. We're actually picking up NBC, CBS, ABC and PBS in full HD!!!!!! The HD looks really awesome!! We also pick up Discovery HD, The Weather Channel HD, and a number of other channels that I have no idea what they are, yet.

Good deal! If your mom likes movies it is worth the money to get a cable box if it is in your area!

No offense, but it's kind of pointless to get a 1080p display at that size.

Thats the Sony tv my dad wants and I have been meaning to get for him and I will soon. Dont listen to Wingman1977 when he says "No offense, but it's kind of pointless to get a 1080p display at that size" because as long as you and your mom enjoy's it thats all that matters.

Good choice.

I agree, as long as you and your Mom are happy that's all that matters. Y'all have to sit kinda close to get the full effects from hi-def tv, but if the two of you like what you see that's awesome. I have a 37 inch LCD and when I first saw hi-def programming on it, it just blew me away, I find I rarely, if ever, watch the standard def cable channels, as I am so hooked on hi-def.
