OK, when I first came to this forum a few months back, I saw all these deals for $14.99 films and starting to buy a couple. Then I saw some great films hit $9.99 and was like
![]() So I'd like to know what eveyrone considers a truly hot deal? To me, $14.99 is not hot. That's typical. Almost everything on Amazon.com is $14.99 to $17/$19.99. Now, it's hot compared to overpriced big box stores like best Buy, but in todays' online world, I don't think it's Hot at all. I don't think anyone should be prevented from posting $14.99 deals, but they shouldn't be labeled HOT. IMO, the $10 price point is HOT. |

Take Amazon's regular price, and subtract 25-30%, or more. That's a hot deal to me.
$14.99 instead of $15.99 --- not a hot deal. Wal-Mart selling a movie for 3 cents less than Amazon's regular price --- not a hot deal. etc. |

While this is all a matter of one opinion versus another, I'd like to see some guidelines established and enforced. Oh wait, they ARE spelled out in the sticky at the top of the forum. Let's see some enforcement for the love of Pete. |

Retail to 40% discount - only for the GOTTA HAVE IT NOW titles...or for low production high quality BDs like Criterion collection titles
50% discount - pretty much "average" /yawn 50-60% discount - better but still in average land 60%-70% discount - what most of us view as being a pretty good deal 70%+ discount - dirt cheap bargain basement. Look at discounts, not prices. Prices affect what you can afford...discounts affect what kind of deal it is. |

it depends on how much you like a movie. there are some movies i'd pay $25 for and some movies I wouldn't pay more than $7.99 for.
it's all relative I guess. |
