Let’s say The Hurt Locker doesn’t win Best Picture award.
In your honest opinion, which is the “better” film between these two? “Better”, meaning more entertaining, higher replay value. |

I really liked Hurt Locker but imagine repeated viewings will lack the edge of your seat feel that it had the first time, and who doesn't love bank robbing surfers. Point Break is always watchable so I'll have to say it's the better one in that regard.

Considering Hurt Locker is a motion picture masterpiece and Point Break is crap I'm going to go with Hurt Locker.
But Point Break has Keanu Reeves, the worst actor in the history, so it does have that going for it, and then there's the subject of there hair in the movie(not going to say the word I would use for it cause some people would find it homophobic). |

For entertainment value (or any other type of values) point break by far!Thought hurt locker was an ok movie, but nothing more.Remember when the three soldiers split up to hunt the enemy bombers at near end?Man,I laughed so hard.Like anyone would split up alone like that outside a computer game.Liked the lead caracter though. . . .

Point Break.
I mean it has Keanu, which is a give or take scenario depending on where you're sitting. but it also has Patrick Swayze. Game-Set-Match. Logan |

Strange Days > Near Dark > New Order's 'Touched by the Hand of God' video > Point Break > Weight of Water > Hurt Locker > K19 the Widowmaker
Most of all though, it's about time the Academy recognized one of the greatest working directors of the last 25 years. |

Hurt Locker by far. There is nothing entertaining about a crap film like Point Break. I don't care if Swayze is in it. He isn't the end all, be all of actors.
Edit: "better" doesn't always mean entertaining. Point in case: Which is better: Schindler's List or Point Break. Last edited by metalgeargreed; 03-16-2010 at 08:05 AM. |

Strange Days is the only movie of hers that I love. Of the two in question, however, Point Break has hella more replay value, which isn't to say that it's objectively better.
Nevertheless, I felt about The Hurt Locker what I felt about Slumdog Millionaire - it's good but overrated. In the long run, only inasmuch as that it won its director the first directing Oscar for a woman will it be remembered. Just my $0.02. ![]() |
