Default 2010 Panasonic G25 plasma question

I've been looking and am considering a 54" Panasoinic G25 plasma. The tv I am replacing (moving into the bedroom) is a 46" Samsung 60 hz LCD thats about 2 and a half years old.
Here are my concerns. I've read alot of horror stories about the black levels of the G10 plasmas degrading after about 6 months, which Panasonic has stated they have fixed in the new models. And my second concern is I am putting the tv in a living room with 23' tall ceilings with a very large high window that allows all kinds of light in the room.
In switching from the tv I listed to the Panasonic Plasma, I'm pretty sure I will see a huge improvement, but want to get some educated advice from you guys.
