The honest truth is HD doesn't really make much of a difference at that size, that's probably why no one else is responding.

I agree that it's a cool feature. I used it while watching the crap heap "Cirque du Freak". My wife and I found pocket BLU more interesting the movie itself.

What do you do with it, watch the extras on it while you're waching the movie?

I would use it if they utilized a bluetooth connection rather than forcing my phone and my PS3 to be on the same wireless network.

Not really. You do not watch the movie (I don't) you use it as a remote. The best part for me is the timeline it shows and what chapter you are on WITHOUT having it pop up on the screen. Great for when you have guests, you get to use your iPhone/Blackberrty as the remote and only you see the stats (timeline/chapter).

Not a lot of titles using it yet but if you have the device you should check it out

I have it on my Andriod G1 and my iPod Touch. I just rented Fourth Kind last night specifically to check out Pocket Blu, but I fell asleep last night before I could check it out.

Here's a question though: Does the Pocket Blu device only connect to my Blu-Ray player if a Pocket Blu compatible title is playing? I have attempted to connect to my player during other BD titles and it won't even find my Oppo.

I'll try it tonight and post results/thoughts.

Yes, you must have one of the ten Universal pocket BLU titles in your player for it to work. The disc implements the IP based interface with your device (http://bd-hive.com/?page_id=63).

So I decided to try Pocket Blu last night with The Fourth Kind and Pocket Blu would not find my Oppo BD-player. I tried this with my iPod Touch and my G1 with Andriod.

I only have access to one WiFi network and all devices (including the Oppo) were connected.

Any idea what I should do now?

Pocket didn't work for me either while watching TFK on a Prof. 2 Wi-Fi connected player. This happened on two separate occaisions. It did work a day or two earlier while watching Cirque du Freak though.

So it looks like it's a problem with just this title. Way to go movie studio. My first attempt at Pocket Blu and it doesn't work. EPIC FAILURE. What's worse is that they advertised Pocket Blu all over this title!

Has anybody gotten Pocket Blu to work with The Fourth Encounter?
Has anybody gotten Pocket Blu to work with the Oppo BD-83 for any title?

I could never get this to work. My BD players are connected to my wireless router with a HomeLineAV connection and router, and PocketBlu is unable to detect it. There is no way to manually program the settings. You launch the app and it either works or it doesn't.

I love tech as much as the next person but honestly, when I'm watching a movie in my home theater I don't play with my cell phone. As a matter of fact when I'm home my cell phone is off. I just don't see the point of a lot of the apps.
