Gangs Of New York - Blu-ray Forum

Ok so just finished watching this on the region B blu ray disc.

First up, no lossless audio track, just DTS (which still sounds quite good), which is a shame.
the AVC picture is quite good, but at times is a little soft, details however seems to be ok and the murky colours are rendered very well. At times this looks excellent, but not a reference disc for either AQ or PQ.

Great movie though, and it is much better than the DVD version.

Must admit I've been looking forward to picking this one up. Will probably have to wait a bit for my Blu-ray kitty to build up a bit in time for the holidays then I'll grab it. What are the extra's like on the disk? Any decent trailers for other new titles etc?

I've always loved this movie, can't wait for it to release over here. I'm kind of confused as to why it hasnt yet if its out in region b already. Crazy companies.

Think the disc is basicly the same as the SD-DVD one. so nothing new other than a very nice AVC transfer. This could of been a great disc if it had a nice PCM track. no doubt will have to wait for the uber special addition for that

ugh, i walked out of the movie theater PO'd. after more than 2 hours of my life gone, that's how they ended the movie, i could've almost screamed. i, personally, felt the ending was not the way i would have done it. other than that i was a great movie.

hey, i said up until the ending the movie was good. i particular didn't care for the ending.

Who owns the distribution rights here in the US?

Miramax distributes it. So if Disney still owns them, it's coming to Blu; exclusively.
