Default Best way to fix Scratched DVDs?

My daughter went and got my star wars trilogy scratched up. There is some skipping now and I dont really feel like rebuying them at this point. Any recommendations on getting them fixed?

You can get them resurfaced or buy that resurfacing machine. I never liked those though.

If your brave, you can pass a lighter over the scratches, that tends to fix the problem.

Just don’t melt the disc!!

I saw some liquid that supposely fills in cracks. Might give that a try but I figured if Im gonna spend 12 bucks on something like that I might as well rebuy the movies since theyre that expensive anymore.

Or just not watch them until the Blu's come out.

I haven't seen Star Wars unless it's been on TV. I'm waiting for the BD's.

I think many resale cd/dvd shops have things to fix them...... so maybe ask around at your local stores........

My son mostly just tears up the inserts of my discs

I just run my discs through a scratch remover and then a motorized cleaner. Doesn't always get the job done but effective.

I've successfully used Mikrosmooth from Maple Shade Records to fix scratched CD's. I would guess that is would do the same for DVD's.

I've used toothpaste in the past...I guess you could say it works. Just make sure it's regular and not containing any hard crystals because that will damage the disk even more lol.
