Default Atari 2600 or Arcade Game Questions? Help.

I am tryin to locate this game and I am not sure if it was on the Atari 2600 or just and arcade game. The way I can descride it is: U start in the middle of the game and then u are surrounded by a lot of creature, aliens etc....and u shoot your way out of it. After u complete the stage u basically do it again but it gets harder and then again u appear in the middle and then several other objects appear all around u and u shoot in all directions to eliminate them and create space. Anyone know which game I am referring to? Thanks. Got Em!!

I think Robotron was out on the other Atari systems (5200 & 7800) and they had some version of it on the N64 as well. I believe it was a ripoff of Berzerk, which was a fun game for its time.

It's an arade emulator that allows you to play all the old school arcade games. That's about all that can be said here, but Google is your friend.

Take a look in my gallery, that's a MAME PC set-up being run in an arcade cabinet.

There is. You need to have a computer hooked up to it. Most people refer to that as an "HTPC," and I've got two of them at my house — one for each HDTV (you can see that info in my sig). Check out my gallery to get an idea for how to go about getting something like this set-up at your place, on your HDTV anyway. You can also build or overhaul your own arcade cabinet and have MAME running in there. That is Rob71's specialty...or one of his specialties, I should say.

You can buy the small Dells like the ones I have for $100 or so if you're patient and good at looking for deals. The one in my bedroom (the SX280) has DVI out, so it has that nice digital connection, which is good for audio/video receiver integration. The one in my main HT has VGA, which I hook up straight to the TV.

If you want to go a little higher end, you can probably get a Mac Mini used, but from what I've seen on my local Craigslist, people think those things are worth way too much used, in which case you'd be better off buying a new one. I have been meaning to swap out my two Dells for Minis because of the dual core action (and aesthetics), but right now I'm not making any big purchases until I get my new MacBook Pro laptop, which is a different subject for another thread.

You can get Robotron: 2084 for PS2 (and a couple others) on Midway Arcade Treasures Vol 1.

Yea there are so many options I can choose from. I do have a question though. My friend said either for the Wii or X-Box u can buy the mame or emulater disk and it goes right into your video game system and u can play all of the old games. Anyone know about that? Got Em!!
