Canada Toy Story 1&2 Question for Canadians!!!!!

Toy Story 1&2 Blu-Ray in Canada says dvd with blu-ray combo is this normal?? I am going to return it, as it is in a dvd case and not a blu-ray case, just wonder if this was the same all across Canada. If so that is pretty low

You picked up the wrong case. They released the Blu/DVD combo in both style cases.

Thanks for letting me know I want the blu-ray cases. I am going to return them soon, and get the proper cases.

Just checked the futureshop site and even they don't stock the move in the blu-ray cases. Why would they do this?? to save money?? this is really stupid. If they wanted us to buy with dvd's cases, why even release the movie on blu-ray, it seems pointless to me.

You got the one meant for DVD users that came with a bonus Blu-ray. I guess it's Disney's way to get a Blu-ray into non Blu-ray users homes. Sort of planting a seed I guess. I'm in Canada too and I've seen the Blu-ray cases in pretty much all the stores I've gone into. Futureshop does have it in their stores but I guess chose to only display the DVD case online.

Despite what the website says, they do. I bought both of mine from FS on day one, both in proper BD cases.

Future Shop's website does not list everything they have for sale in-store. They do in fact carry the blu-ray style cases as well.

The title comes in two cases, one says "Blu-ray/ DVD Combo" and the other says "DVD/ Blu-ray Combo" nothing is different with the discs, except for the placement in the discs and the casing. This is, I believe, the second (and third) times Disney has done it, and from what I've seen different stores have different policies about this. When I bought my Snow White (which was the first) copy from the local Future Shop, and they just had the Blu-ray cased one, then when I got my copy of the two Toy Story films, HMV had both cased versions (I went with the BD one) and when just a couple of hours ago, I was in a local Walmart where they just had the DVD cased version.

whats the big deal? its just a case!

you still get the actual blu-ray disc dont you?

i can understand if you want to switch to get it to look good on your shelf, but when you start saying "whats the point of releasing it on blu-ray if you are going to put it in a DVD case"

thats ridiculous!

Yeah I wouldn't want a DVD case either but cringed when I read that. Two of the best animated films ever made and released as two of the best looking Blu-Rays to date which slaughter the DVD's and a DVD case would mean there is no point to them? What kind of Blu-Ray Junkie would post such nonsense?

For me, I wanted the blu-ray casing and was lucky enough to get it.

It goes with the rest of my blu-rays in the shape of the case.

It is just more asthetically pleasing to have it the same as all the other blu-rays.

Not like I wouldn't have purchased it, but I am glad I was able to get the casing I wanted.

I too have no idea why Disney would make the blu-ray casing so limited.

It wasn't limited. You can find countless copies of the Blu-ray casing. No worries, they're not going anywhere.
