Just got word this comes out June 1st. The unrated director's cut on Blu-ray includes two exclusive alternate endings and digital copy. It was kind of a disappointment in the box-office so I hope it's a good renter/seller.

I enjoyed it, saw it in theaters. Nice throw back to the original movie, I will be picking this up.

I'd love to see them put out the 1941 version as a cross-promotion. Looks like that isn't going to happen. Maybe we'll see some Universal Monsters by October... one can hope.

I hope as well they wil lrelease the 6 original set of Universal Monsters on Blu-ray soon. I have them on DVD but would upgrade without a problem for this classic movies.

This was decent; the first 20 minutes were edited like a trailer and very indicative of the problems they had on set. I don't think it quite nailed its tone. It had some great creepy moments, like one of the dream sequences, but most of the scares consisted of loud noises and something jumping out at a character. There's also some pretty rough acting by Del Toro especially

felt asleep, movie itself is very boring
but make up, CG are very nice, looking forward to the PQ of this blu-ray release

I'm very curious about the director's cut. The first act felt very, very rushed. Johnston gave an interview stating that he's putting back in at least 17 minutes for the blu-ray release. That 17 minutes could be the difference on a film that I felt had great style, beautiful atmosphere, solid horror action, yet lack characterization...

The directors cut apparently is 17-20 minutes longer, and a lot of that footage is from the first half of the film

Saw this at the theater. It was enjoyable, but it had its fair share of flaws. Emily Blunt was simply lovely, though.

Don't think I'll be rewatching this so soon as it's still fresh in my mind, so not even a rental for me, for now.

my opinion; do not blind buy. I'd definitely Netflix this one first before you consider paying full price for it.

Great advice! I enjoy the movie in theaters but blind buy is never a good option IMO
