Default The works of J R R Tolkien

Just thought this would be a good thread to start, especially with LoTR hitting blu before long. I have the Silmarillion and the LoTR novel, intend to get the Hobbit and the Unfinished Tales of Numenor before long. Tolkien is my favourite author of all-time and it really was one of the best days of my life when LoTR was released in theatres.

I don't have anything fancy, just the paperback set of The Hobbit and LoTR. I need to read them again.

Yes.

We just started a 'big read' and discussion of 'The Fellowship of the Ring' book this week.

The only author that I own multiple editions of the same book. Prize being the 50th anniversary leatherbound edition of LOTR (thanks for the best christmas gift ever honey )
Also the Nasmith illustrated silmarillion, the Alan Lee illustrated Hobbit. All of the movie companion books, Alan Lee sketchbook, unfinished tales, Christopher Tolkien's history of middle earth etc. To say I am obsessed is an understatement. I have four swords from the movies, Sting, Glamdring, Anduril and Theoden's sword. 6 polystone environments from sideshow, Helm's Deep, Edoras, Moria, Bucklebury ferry, Stone Trolls (cost me an arm and a leg but so worth it) and the Minas Morgul exclusive. Also the Baradur and Minas Tirith from the Bradford Exchange.

Of all my memorabilia though the full scale Crown of King Elessar is my most precious...

All that being said I am somewhat on the fence with the BD theatricals.. mainy because of the reviews.

About 6 pages into the Hobbit, excellent read so far, can't wait to get through the whole thing again.

I enjoy the books by Tolkien. I have different editions of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. I also have a man reading the whole Hobbit book and the whole Lord of the Rings books on cd. I have joined some Tolkien online message boards.

Check out the Annotated Hobbit. Lots of info in the book. You think you're obsessed? You should see how many editions I have of the Hobbit and LOTR, including a graphic novel version of the Hobbit.
