Default isnt point of movie co to distribut movies

Arent movie companies in the business of distribution. How much can it cost to make a blu ray master , $50 ,000, it isn't that expensive and then make mass copies of blu rays discs , with replication machine. The market is huge, every playstation in the world has a blu ray players, plus all the standalone machines, it is a no brainer, get in on the action now. these companies are so slow, they don't realize the potential of blu ray. Sad very sad

Not only is it disgusting, it's also a very lazy approach. Have someone else do all the leg work and make the initial sacrifice to get bly-ray to mainstream levels and they'll come in at the end.

Hm... well some people will argue that the DVD isn't going anywhere, but I doubt it. The same way VHS died suddenly, the DVD format will come to an end in Hollywood too and once that happens, everyone is going to be scrambling to get stuff done quickly and that's when we'll REALLY see the crappy quality BD titles. Kinda sad.

My nephew is 7 he got a blu ray player for his birthday. This is a typical indian family in U.S

Yeah I have my PS3, a Sony BD Player, and of course the LG Drive in my computer. Plus a lot of my family has players too and I thought of all people my relatives were old-fashioned, but nope. We're all getting there.

Studio18 needs to get a little more confident about their work. Their BD will SELL if they do one. The NTSC dvd from them for Jab We Met was nearly perfectly authored.

I'm just curious what kind of numbers does bollywood blu get. Is bollywood blu-ray available at blockbuster, or netflix? I know from BB was only Saawariya since it was released by sony in the states. For a few weeks IFC (Independent Film channel) was showing bollywood movies early on Sundays including Jab We Met but for the most part exposure is limited to Hulu and you have to dig for that. Until I can see a title in a weekly flyer such as BestBuy or another brick and mortar I don't blame Studio18 for being conservative. Besides Eros Entertainment their's no film company in the states releasing blu-ray, all the rest are imports. There's alot of savvy folk on these pages buying from amazon or bolllywoodblu-ray but until bollywood gets more television exposure/local retailer availability, I don't see the smaller companies, especially catalog titles, ramping up production of blu-ray discs.
