Default Star Wars: The Old Republic Xbox 360-bound?

UK retailer schedule lists LucasArts and EA's MMORPG as coming to Microsoft's console in spring 2011; BioWare says no console version planned "at this time."

Bioware would be absolutely foolish to not bring this to the 360. I'm signing up the moment it becomes available.

I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO REVAN AND THE EXILE!!

They will never release it on 360, because it's an MMO, which means it's an online game via a PC. The online part is not a supplement like most console games, the whole game is online and MMOs are far greater and more succesful on a PC or Mac. Not to mention the fact that the game is so far into production that they can't just suddenly do a 360-port, because it has been designed for PC and Mac.

I'm glad it's never going to come out on any console, because that way it is much more manageble as a game. This is not a console game, not like the first two Knights of the Old Reublic games, this is totally different.

If you have been following The Old Republic, then you would understand all this.

It's only being made for PC though isn't it? I have a Mac and haven't seen any news on a Mac release.

Well they never really mention a Mac release because that comes out several months later normally and PC is the platform most people use. And also, I have actually read a few articles that have mentioned a Mac release, I can't remember where, but it did mention them

That is the biggest farse statement in the history of forum BS, I havent been following Old Republic Release info but word of the wise MMO means Massive Multiplayer Online not Hi i am only to be released on PC. Perfect example of this is Final Fantasy 11, This was released on PS2, PC, then 360... FFXIV due to be released at Christmas is for PS3 and PC

The port can be done at any time once the game is complete, it is not that hard the question at hand would be how well does the 360 handle said game once the port is complete.

You have basically contradictated yourself there by saying you haven't been following the game. I have since day one and I can tell you that this game cannot be ported to any console because all the controls and game-play have been designed arund a PC. If it was ported, it would be a failure, because it isn't designed for console use.

A brilliant example of how much more succesful MMOs are on PC is World of Warcraft. That is the most successful MMO out there right now and it has been running for FIVE YEARS and has 60% of all MMO subscribers. Now based on that evidence, what does that say? That says that MMOs are more successful on PC than consoles

BioWare have assert what platform is most succesful with MMOs and it is clearly PC. If they thought it would work on Xobox 3060, then they would do it, but they clearly don't. If anything, the game itself is a ground-breaking MMO, with it being the first fully-voiced MMO and lots of other reasons. They have recorded more voice material for this game than all of BioWare's previous games put together.

Now I myself am a Xbox 360 gamer, not PC, but I would not want this on 360 because it wouldn't work.

I suggest you actually look into this game a lot before you make comments like that, otherwise you aren't in a strong position to say whether this game would work on a console or not.

please explain how I contradicted myself, I simply stated what a MMO was and how you were incorrect in your statement about it being only on a PC not ever on a console. I also stated i had no idea how it would handle itself and that the port itself would determine that. Please reread my statement before critiquing me.

Because you said at the start you haven't been following the game, but then later go onto say it can be ported. Yet how can you say that if you don't know how the game is going to work. Even if you didn't mean it that way, that's the way it was read out.

As for me saying that MMOs only work on PC, even in my first post, I actually said PC was a much more successful platform for the genre. I said that the online feature for console games most of the time is not an MMO, I never actually said that MMOs wouldn't work on consoles, beacuse I'm fully aware of Final Fantasy XI and have played it.
