Glad to hear the UK aren't being left out. I hope this will have a better cover design, than the one Play.com are showing. I prefer the US' version.

Tom Hanks will be getting plenty of blu-ray coverage with this, and 'Saving Private Ryan' on the horizon. Bad news for my wallet, with being a big fan of Hanks.

Apollo 13 - 20th Anniversary Edition: May 4th 2015. This should be remastered. Hopefully in 4K.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's the exact same disc as before just in new packaging but if it is a new transfer free of all the digital tinkering of the original I will jump on it.

Cynical if it's not the remaster. That will inevitably makes its way onto disc as well at some point so this one would be an obvious £££ grab.

Well, the 15th Anniversary US Blu-ray was a different transfer than the previous HD DVD edition, so here's hoping the 20th keeps that trend going (in a good way!).

Anything is possible but given Universal's track record of re-releasing old discs in different packaging numerous times I won't be pre-ordering unless they announce in advance that it's a new restoration.

Plenty of time for that yet. And they didn't exactly make a song and dance about Breakfast Club and yet here we are with a nice new transfer having just been released, and as an anniversary edition too.

It looks like the US is definitely getting a new release with new bonus features. I'll try and track down the press release ...

Definitely less pessimistic about the UK 20th Anniversary release now that it's been confirmed the US release out the same time will feature a newly restored transfer.

It was confirmed a week ago by Universal, but I couldn't find a link to the press release, The Digital Bits don't have one either, it's getting more and common now, it's nice to have links to the sources!
