Default Fragland.net article... "Blu-ray vs. HD DVD: Scam of the year?"

The more I read this, the more I wanted to meet this idiot and give him a piece of my mind - He starts about halfway through talking about the new formats are really no improvement over STDVD. Makes me think he never even saw a Hi def disc.

Hmm... the article is from an XBox 360 enthusiast site. Hardly surprising given the lackluster compatibility with the add-on and HD DVD discs and the fact that it is an add-on so no 360 games can take advantage of the extra capacity.

What a bonehead. What he fails to realize is that home theatre entertainment is a booming industry. Until people are able to afford an actual theatre sized venue in their homes with all of the advanced equipment necessary to project onto a 200' screen at a reasonable price, they will keep buying into the newest technology that gets them closest to that experience. The convenience of having a theatre style experience at home is worth spending tons of money on, even though it would probably cost signifigantly less to just go to the movie theatre 3 times a week.

If he's ever actually spent ANY time watching a HD disk of any sort.. (I'll even defend HD DVD here) to say he cannot see a difference to SD is plain idiocy at best. Without slinging mud I'll say he's either: a)ignorant on the subject b)poorly sighted c)watching HD stuff from 30ft away on a 17inch screen or finally d)Writing absolute rubbish deliberately to get himself a few "diggs" and traffic to the site..

I don't mind.. I'd rather be on sites I enjoy, reading opinions from intelligent people I respect and like the ramblings of.. such as this site and you guys*..

*disclaimer... did'nt actually say I was either sane or had good taste!
