Default why does my fye have a bunch of canadian titles??

I went to my fye in new york today, and they had all 3 blade movies, seven, and butterfly effect. Each title has both english and french on it. Why is my U.S. Store selling canadian titles? By the way, each tittle is being sold for 15 dollars.

If it's "your" store you should know.

According to this website...the BD version(s) of this series are only available in Canada.

If this is in error...then the other reason for seeing "Canadian" copies of this movie (series), is that it is being released by Alliance, which is a Canadian company.

Other than that...I'm clueless!!??

The store is in portchester new york, and the cases for each movie had the canadian film rating on it. Seven in particular said 18a

This is a very good question. I was in MovieStop yesterday afternoon, and I was shocked to see 5 copies of the movie Se7en on the shelf. I follow events pretty closely, and I knew that Se7en has not been released in the U.S. yet. I picked it up and looked it - sure enough, it was the Alliance version. And it wasn't just Se7en - MovieStop also had multiple copies of Reindeer Games. All of the copies were opened and listed as "used", so I can only speculate someone traded them in. Still, that was a lot of copies to trade in.

In the past I've noticed many Canadian editions in the local FYE (though I haven't been in there in roughly a year), many with bilingual covers. The majority of these were new, not used. In northern U.S. locations it's more understandable, with the close proximity to the border, and the possibility that maybe in some cases the Canadian stock is actually cheaper? But the odd thing is that I'm in FL...

Whatever I guess, seven these titles haven't even been announced for the US yet.

Exactly my point. I'm in Florida, and the MovieStop had multiple copies of these Canadian releases. The spine of Reindeer Games had both English and French type.

My question is this: will these titles play on U.S region players? Nevermind that Alliance is generally regarded as making crappy transfers, I'm curious if the discs are region locked, or can my PS3 play them?

USA and Canada share the same Region Coding, 'A.'

If you buy a disc from Canada it will work in a US Machine and Vice-Versa.

same here. I'm in Jacksonville, and my MovieStop all of a sudden had a bunch of Alliance flicks (Dusk Til Dawn, all 3 Blade movies, Se7en, etc), all were brand new and going for $14.99/$17.99. I asked the guy who worked there about it and he said that he has no idea, he just came into work one day and had an assload of Canadian movies to stock. He also said they're gonna keep getting them in. I hope so. That would cut out the shipping fees associated with importing from Amazon.ca

Hey! Why was the French version of King Kong (1976) at my local Half Price Books store? I paid $10 USD + tax for it. I probably should take it back; it must be defective.
