NEW MK TRALIER Featuring Kratos from god of war! 12/11/2010

Kratos to star in upcoming mortal kombat

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/113/1139087p1.html

http://stickskills.com/news/1360/kra...mortal-kombat/

"Looks like there will be a little God of War in your Mortal Kombat next year. Check after the break for details on the upcoming exclusive deal for the Playstation 3.

Mortal Kombat has seen quite a few changes, mishaps, and styles over the long history of the franchise. After a not so well received Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe hit the market, Ed Boon and the Mortal Kombat franchise are looking to rebound with an exclusive character on at least one of the consoles.

Thanks to the January issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, we've learned just who that character is. When Mortal Kombat drops next year in March, Playstation 3 owners will be able to use an exclusive character none other than Kratos himself from the God of War series. Not only will Kratos be featured in the game, he'll have his own fatalities, combat moves, and his very own God of War themed combat arena.

While Kratos will be featured in the game, he won't be a playable character in the story mode. We're rather happy to see Kratos make his entry into the Mortal Kombat series, as he's known as one of the more iconic members of the Playstation 3 family and he loves violence.

The January issue of the Official Playstation Magazine will go on sale later this week, be sure to pick it up to catch all of the details on Kratos and more."

-Netherrealm Studios is currently in talks with manufacturers for MK Arcade Sticks. Nothing is certain yet, though.

-People can watch matches online and rate players 1-10. Players can also make their feelings known during the match, as well.

-Also, Rain (Armageddon form) and some sort of High Priest character can be seen in the background of a church-like arena.

Open world with FF style fight encounter. How about a real adventure-like storyline with fistfights/Kung-Fu throughout? Imagine the online possibilities??? Instead of blasting some tool with an RPG from 100 yards, you have to actively engage enemies (with a little Raiden style Superman attack to catch an opponent unaware ). Certain items needed to complete tasks, so you have to track down opponents with these items and make choices over which items you steal from them after you defeat them. Close fights yield limited access to booty, destroying your opponent (and Finishing Them for good measure) yields greater access to spoils of war, and gets you the special items you need to fulfill quests... Just some thoughts...

Doc

It is a true Mortal Kombat game and Ed Boon said on his twitter that it will play very different from MK vs DC. I thought the fighting engine on that game was pretty good, but I guess they have a better one.

This game is not coming in 2010 despite the MK team claiming last year that it would be out in 2010. I won't say it 100% for sure but I'm 95% sure because the game's not set to be debuted at E3 next month and we have seen no official news on this game in over a year other than the fact it's being made.

Ed boon actually did a poll on babalities and friendships asking which one fans most wanted to see again, I think one of them will return.

I do believe it will appear at E3.

Recent quotes from Ed Boons twitter account:

Editing a VERY kool video.

13.5 hour work day. On a Beautiful Sunday too. That blows! But this will be the best Picachoo video EVAH!!

Thinking of calling the next game, MK9: Violence of the Lambs !! Bah! Maybe not.

Coloneliquid Will MK9 have a large roster? Noobde: Larger than MK1? Yes. Larger than Armageddon? Probably not.

RT @KbzoNaranjo Can this mk be the most mortal kombat ever? Noobde: It totally is.

But again, these aren't official announcements and frankly, I don't trust Ed Boon after the farce that was MK vs. DC as far as I can throw him. All the promises he made about violence, brand new storyline, all new characters, rebooting Mortal Kombat etc. were all made about the abortion that became MK vs DC so no I don't believe anything at all he says until it's officially announced by Warner Bros.

I loved Mortal Kombat vs. DC, one of my favorite all time games. I would not have passed up the chance to make it either. But I know everyone does not feel the same. I've had loads of fun with this game online and it's still going strong.

This is from a highly reliable source

Facts:

1. One of the fastest Mortal Kombat games yet.

2. The game is going to be the most dark, violent and serious Mortal Kombat yet.

3. Sub-Zero and Scorpion are in.

4. It plays and looks very differently from Mortal Kombat vs. DC.

5. It's the most realistic Mortal Kombat game ever.

6. It's a reboot, NOT a remake.

7. It's 2.5D.

8. It's simply called Mortal Kombat.

MK will be playable at E3. The character list that will be shown is currently being finalized.

Pictures were captured 1.5 months ago, and were submitted to a magazine. I don't know which one, but we should start seeing those pix very soon.

I will update this when we get new info. And if I missed anything, please tell me.

Sorry Dewey, nothing against you, but I still don't believe this at all until WB announces it. As I stated before, Ed Boon made every one of those claims with the exception of statements 1 and 4 about the previous game and it became MK vs. DC which I will again state my utter hatred for.

If any of this is true, I personally think it has a chance of bringing back MK with a bang after a 4 year absence(no I don't count previously mentioned abortion as an actual MK game) but more likely it will damage it severely because so many people will compare it to the original games and the original storyline.

I so hope they can get this game back to its roots. I used to play MK and MK2 with my brother all the time. We were fanatic about it. We used to be so good at them we would beat the games story mode in the arcades. C'mon MK9, deliver the goods!

I spent a couple hundred dollars playing MKII in the arcades back in "the day". Hopefully this new one can return the franchise back to those glory days.

I really want the Kreate A Fighter option to be back. It was quite fun in Mortal Kombat Armageddon, which even though lacked a real story and character endings, was my favourite MK.

All I want is Kabal, Sub Zero, Scorpion and Kung Lao, then I would dominate the game.
