Australia Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 2 & 3 ??

Does anyone have any clue as to when Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 2 and 3 are coming to Blu-Ray in Australia??

I picked up Season One for $NZ25 ages ago and I am still twiddling my thumbs in anticipation for the local release for the other two seasons. Hopefully in the same fat-pack with slipcover design as Season One.

Season 2 has been out for a while, I own it. As for Season 3, the wait continues....

Edit: This could be why you haven't seen it anywhere, apparently it's a JB HiFi exclusive! http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/d...clusive/456692

Try Amazon . . . either Uk or USA

I sourced all 3 series from AmazonUSA - the region coding is not locked so you can play them in Oz.

Far cheaper as well (including postage).

Thats an insane price! Why would that title be a JBhiFi exclusive? it has no special packaging or features.

I got season 3 from the US. Quite cheap and plays on Region B players. Same packaging as well (albeit in a slimmer case) so it'll look good next to the other two locally released sets.

Default Star Trek: The Original Series, Season 2 & 3 ??

I rang Paramount a few months ago and their rep said (unbelivably I might add) that they had no intention of releasing Season 3 on Bluray as their wasn't much demand for it and besides that because it was NTSC and not PAL it was too cost prohibitive to reauthor for the Australian market.

Told him that was a ridiculous assumption and that there are numerous NTSC authored DVDs and BDs on the market. He disagreed and said that was the company's stance.

When I told him I would simply import the Season 3 BD direct from the US, he balked and told me that was illegal! Huh. Well guess what I did it anyway and can confirm that it is BD region free and cost far less to boot! All up cost me just under AUD$50 including postage and shipping from Amazon.

How can these companies justify such high retail prices in Oz (ie. $125 for the Season 1 & 2 sets) when I could practically import it for less than half that. And the Aussie dollar is pretty much neck and neck with the US at the moment. Incredible. Anyway, if like me you're a fan of TOS, then do yourself a favour and screw Paramount Australia by importing it from the US - at least that way you shall complete your collection.

Oh it's just too expensive to slap a ratings logo on the case and triple the price. This is why most of my purchases are imports.

Dude, that's the stupidest thing I ever heard. I hope you laughed in his face and slammed down the phone in his ear.

Re-authoring..... yeah right. They don't have to do jack! It's the same damn content. This is precisely why I purchased from the US in the first place!

God damn it! Now I am going to have to import...

Do the US boxsets at least look the same as the Aus ones?
