Australia A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010)

No word on the original just yet, but EzyDVD has the recent remake down for Blu and DVD release on October 6. I might be the only one, but I actually rather enjoyed this, and more than the original. Jackie Earle was wicked as this "darker" Freddy and really packed a punch. Still undecided whether I'll pick it up though.

the original is on BD, region free, warner boobs..
jackie's dialogue was just contrived and no punch.. and missing the swagger of Rob's freddy..

its not all bad.. but not scary just uses jumps /stingers

I've only seen the trailer, and the above line was cool in the trailer. Am waiting to quickflix the film.

Like I said, I have not seen the film yet, so I cant comment on a line taken completely out of context.

"you shouldn't fall asleep in class"

is that a teacher saying it? a friend? Freddy? some random hobo walking down the street?

wow, good choice of lines you dont like, whats next; "hi" ?

* I see you have 'Halloween 2' and 'Snakes on a Plane' in your collection... both have utterly terrible lines and hideous scripts..... nice

It very well may be, but in the trailers it sounds quite okay.

I doubt I'll be buying or even renting this one, and I love all the Nightmare movies. I saw this at the movies and couldn't believe how rubbish it was. I liked Jackie Earle Haley in Watchmen but he wasn't able to summon up even a fraction of Englund's charisma as Freddy. Englund made even the most mediocre Nightmare film watchable from start to finish, but Earle Haley's Freddy was just a sleazy bore.
