OVERVIEW

This fall BUZZ!™, the popular quiz show franchise, makes its way for the first time to the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system with BUZZ!™ Quiz TV. Developed by Relentless Software, BUZZ! Quiz TV comes packed with BUZZ! wireless buzzer peripherals for an easy, pick-up-and-play game show experience. Combining to deliver over 5,000 questions divided into five different genre channels (Music, Movies & TV, Sports, Brainiac and Lifestyle), the new Channel Hopper mode allows players to switch between the different categories of questions in order to play a variety of quizzes that lets all your friends get into the action.

Extending the quiz show network beyond the disc, up to four players from anywhere in the U.S. can team up for trivia showdowns in the online multiplayer mode, Sofa vs. Sofa. New quiz packs will be available to download from the PLAYSTATION®Network, so players will never run out of fresh questions. Also, for trivia fans wanting to see if they can trump others with their own vast library of knowledge, MyBUZZquiz.com will provide a global community for players to create and share their own custom quizzes online and then make available to download onto PS3.

Same here about the PS2 Buzz! ones, but I must say I am pretty intrigued by this version. 5000 questions with the option of downloading more and playing others online... hmmm

IGN: Buzz! Quiz TV Hands-on

The other big feature of Buzz! Quiz TV is, of course, the fact it comes with wireless controllers (plus USB dongle) and, if you've ever spent hours unravelling the PS2's earlier peripheral prior to a 'spontaneous' quiz match, you'll know how much of a Godsend that really is.

If you're the kind of person who really gets wet in the nethers about peripheral design minutiae, the new PS3 controller model offers a few tweaks. For a start, it's got a springy little trigger switch located next to the big red buzzer which pushes up to power on and clicks back to lock the unit. In other words, it turns itself off while not in use, perfect for the battery-consumption-minded, and it won't burst back to life when someone's fat arse accidentally spread-eagles it on the sofa. Finally, there's a small blue PS logo beneath the four coloured buttons which flashes whenever you press something – that means you can't pretend your controller's not working when your general knowledge falls in tatters around you. To all intents and purposes though, it's the same old Buzz! buzzer.

I just bought Scene-It on the 360 for the family. We loved it.

Does anyone know if Buzz for the PS2 works on the PS3 (remotes and all).

I wish there were more trivia games out there. Trivial Pursuit (or something similar) on the PS3 with all the extras and downloadable content packs would be sweet.
