Default Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series

Is it really worth $66.95? I'm interested in buying it but just want to make sure it is a must have and does it look Blu worthy?

I have a 1080i display...if that helps in the decision

I don't have this on blu-ray, but it is totally worth it. The series is just amazing and some scenes are just out of this world, yet its all filmed right on earth

It is the most incredible documentary I've ever seen.

And the HD video quality is fantastic.

Besides the narration is there a difference between the US and BBC versions? Doesn't the BBC version have more footage?

This is an absolutely spectacular documentary film, one that is really touching and that inspires serious thought about the future of our planet.

It is very true to life/graphic insofar as predator and prey are concerned and I could see where some of those scenes could frighten/disturb small children.

I was in your shoes awhile back about this documentary. I went ahead and bought it as I've been reading about it. I'm glad that I did and its worth every penny.

Yes, the BBC version runs approx. 530 minutes vs. the US version at 480 minutes.

Also, the US version is presented in 1080i/AVC MPEG-4 encode, compared to the 1080p/VC-1 on the BBC version.

BBC all the way.

I bought a microwave to cook "baked" potatoes. I bought a Blu-Ray player to watch Planet Earth. This is an absolutely stunning series and worth several times the price!

Sadly I don't have 1080p...yet
But I have 1080i and a Blu-ray player
...guess I'll have to settle for that

I have a 1080i display as well. Still worth it, I watch most of my stuff in the 720p (I feel is better for action scenes). PQ is amazing, and I wouldn't let the lack of a 1080p display keep you from getting this film.

Planet Earth is absolutely gorgeous. The set is a must have for anyone, especially those with an HD setup.

I have a HD projector and watched most of Planet Earth on a 14' screen in the basement. I have since moved and now only have a 9' screen (boo hoo) and it just blows me away anytime I watch some of it.

More than worth the price.

Default Blue Planet too.......

Planet earth is a great documentary, and it's beautiful HD.
The "Blue Planet" Blu Ray is right along the same lines and just as pretty (just shorter and less expensive.....).
