Default Blu-ray 82% market dominance in Norway!

Just wanted to let people know some cold cool facts for hd blubs from Small but Rich Norway:

In 2007 Blu-ray dominates the Hi-def market by 82% over Hd-dvds 18%. according to release.no.

Also the first norwegian (not foreign) release on Hi-def is due this fall for Blu-ray allthough the company (Scanbox) that gave Norways first Dvd issue is more hesitant to choose a winner in Hd-format they've stated the following: (Translated into english by myself)

"But, the extreme quality aware enthusiasts favour Bd, as we percieve it. Bd has greater capacity and offers more opportunities. This is the group(quality enthusiasts) who we are paying attention to."

*Please note: The Hi-def market in norway is small, that it will be quite some time until either hi-def format significantly competes with Sd-Dvd. Also, the first Blu-ray release is nothing significant either. However, Scanbox is a large film distributor in Norway.*

The Hidef market aims at replacing Dvd sales figures over the next 5 years. Norwegians spend approximately 87 million USD on film purchases annually.

The norwegian market stats are useful in indicating the situation in Northern europe. These economies are rich and tend to adopt the latest and best quickly (sometimes ahead of the States) and reject poor products quickly.

Please post stats from other countries. Thank you!
