So close, but so far, far away..... I prey they are not going to shaft us on special features and have them as movie-only releases.

I am all over this. If it's expensive here (who am I kidding, of course it will be!) then I will import but this is definitely on the must-buy list. Fox had better not screw with the PQ on these as it's one of their most popular franchises. Anything short of the best possible presentation based on the source material will have me (and no doubt many others) pretty damn furious. As an iconic franchise it deserves top-tier treatment so hopefully the presentation on disc gets as much respect and attention as the packaging has.

Agreed with you. I will buy for my collection. Will decide to buy Australian or UK version later.

Want to get it, but I just know its going to cost a jillion dollars. If the PQ is good, it would be one hell of a set

Assuming an amazing PQ, fair chance I'll import it (probably from US if it's region free).

I'd assume pricing of approx. $199AUD compared to $97.99USD (current Amazon pre-order) which is approx. $113AUD.

Does anyone know if the limited edition will be released in Australia? I'm guessing it'll cost quite a bit to import.

Well, for those curious about the price it's now listed on EzyDVD. A mere $129.97 for the regular version and only () $169.97 for the egg version!

Ha, ha, ha.....

$32 a film? No problem - what a steal. I know JB will have it cheaper but c'mon Fox, are you deliberately trying to kill sales of Blu-ray? I ordered the UK one from Amazon a month ago and it's going to cost me $63, less than HALF the price. When it's exactly the same discs and I'm getting mine sent from the other side of the world that's just plain ridiculous.

And here I was thinking that with the recent advent of $10 Blu-rays here in Australia we might finally be starting to see some more reasonable pricing on catalogue titles.

I'm not too keen on the Limited Edition Egg packaging, to be honest. The Egg on its own would look good, but it just looks strange with the little Alien hugging the egg, or the alien hugging the massive egg (depending which way you look at it.) It'll be a purchase for me, anyway, but I think they could've done better.

Well, it comes out around my birthday so I'll just get it for that occasion. And, to be honest I don't really like the normal packaging (the black and white face-hugger), so it has to be one or the other!

That's just a temp pic. The real artwork for the AU set hasn't been released, but considering the US and UK have the same artwork (minus region specific ratings) it's likely we'll get the same.

I sure hope so. If that's the case, and we do get the US/ UK artwork, then I'll just get the normal boxed set. The US/UK artwork looks terrific.

The Fox store are the only one's selling it now in the US and for $149.99 USD, which is about $163.655 AUD, and both Sanity and ezydvd have it up for preorder at 169.97

not a lot of difference there, anyone who thinks they're importing it for cheaper is MAD

Maybe with the egg it's about the same, but it's costing me $63 instead of $130 by importing the regular set from the UK. That's a hell of a difference. For the cost of ordering the regular version from EzyDVD I can buy two sets from the UK and still have change left over. That's just outright crazy when it's exactly the same discs.
