Default Charting the A-Man, #1 HD DVD shill (an AVS posting graph)

I thought Amir's posting habits were unusual before the Paramounted contract. So I downloaded the AVMS thread and wrote a Perl script to extract data (I love data!).

I counted the number of words Amir posts per day (excluding quotes for replies). Surprise surprise... Amir was busy on "vacation" right before the deal:

I thought this was interesting enough to plot and post here! Enjoy!

Somebody has too much time on their hands. Circumstantial, at best, but good job.

I didn't manually count each word! That is what Perl is for... only took me an hour.

This is very interesting. He probably hand delivered some of those red suitcases full of bribery money.

Perl is so fun.... here's another interesting one:

Occurrences of words from Amir (June 1 to present):

HD DVD: 466
BD: 594
Blu-ray: 26

He loves to call it "BD"... but won't call it Blu-ray often!

HE TALKS ABOUT BD MORE THAN HD DVD.

But you all know how FUD works... you can't spread it by talking about your own products.

Cool

Here's even more of Amir's vocabulary:

67 PCM
34 TrueHD

94 Sony
36 Microsoft
49 Toshiba

54 PS3
53 movies
19 Xbox

Fun one:

7 damn
115 This
28 war

Damn was the only cuss word I could find.

These's were all 36 count... and were grouped together nicely!!

36 All
36 least
36 care
36 Not
36 Microsoft
36 others
36 power

He likes long words too:

1 intermodulation
2 representatives
1 computationally
6 implementations
1 programmability
3 incompatibility
2 compressionists
5 standardization
3 misunderstanding
1 interoperability
1 mischaracterizing

I'm now gonna go watch a movie on a 594 BD.

That's darn impressive. Very interesting.

And as for his frequency about talking about BD, that has ALWAYS been the case. For years as a member I would ask him to please stick to promoting HD DVD instead of constantly trying to tear down Blu-ray.

He never listened. So, I stopped reading.

Should change the title to "Charting A-Man"

Seriously, Amir has nothing to do with that stuff. He's an engineer and a shill. He's totally tech end and propoganda

Okay, one last statistic... I promise:

Of the approximately 90,380 words (of 3 characters or longer)... not a SINGLE occurrence of "FUD".

BECAUSE ALL OF IT IS FUD.

He is a junior VP of M$ who likes to get his rocks off by acting like a big shot over at AVSforums. People fawn over him and make the guy into a somebody. He doesn't call any shots he's just a mouthpiece.

Quote:
* Microsoft corporate vp, consumer media technology Amir Majidimehr applied for media access to Disney home entertainment's web site the same week that Paramount/DreamWorks announced they were abandoning the Disney-backed Blu-ray format. Can't criticize the guy for trying, I guess, and at least he was completely open and candid about who he is -- listed his accurate name, title, affiliation, and contact info.
But holy cow, what kind of shenanigan or desperate act is this?
Either he thinks the people at Disney are idiots, he's up to something, or he curiously believed the studio would be happy to grant him the access.
Disney Home Entertainment's worldwide head of communications Eric Maehara told me he laughed hysterically at this request and said that once Amir can get properly accredited as a legitimate journalist then Maehara will be happy to give him access. "Who knows," Maehara said, "If he's lucky and i'm in a good mood, maybe i'll even give him a Blu-ray screener."

I'm always rather amazed he has so much time.

Assuming it's actually him all the time, and not an assistant, or a special guest Amir.
