United Kingdom Gladiator Disc Replacement Program (UK)

Do you think this applies to all European customers (like Saving Private Ryan)? I think so.

Quote:
Universal (which holds the UK rights to the movie) is also setting up an exchange program, and is sending the following instructions: "If you wish to exchange your original DVNR (digital video noise reduction) feature disc we ask that you send us just your disc 1 in an envelope with your name and address enclosed. Please keep your original packaging and we will post you out a new disc 1."

Disc 1 should be mailed to the following address:

Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd
'Gladiator Exchange'
Prospect House
80-110 New Oxford Street
London
WC1A 1HB

I'm not going to bother, it's not that big of a deal for me. But it's good that they are doing this, at least it shows that Universal care about their customers.

Will they sell this new version in the shops ? I assume they have stopped making the old copy and it will get replaced in time.

I'm sending mine today, I was waiting to hear back from them directly. If you goto their website and mail them to ask, they send you that standard reply at the top.

I personally was pleased with the original blu release, I thought it was miles better than my dvd so was happy enough, but after seeing new screen grabs from the remastered version I think it would be silly not to get a replacement.

I decided to email them to confirm it open to Ireland as well before posting the disk off. better safe than sorry.

dose the disk need to protect being posted off or can it be stuck in any envelop and sent back and how long dose the process usually take once they have the disks for the exchange

So you just pop disc 1 into a padded envelope.. send it off to the address up top and 5 days later you get your replacment disc?

Well apparantly Universal won't have any new discs to send out for about a month so you'll be waiting a while. Still, I'm going to post mine soon.

I emailed the Irish Universal site a few days ago, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I hope so, but you know... 100% is better than 99%.

I wanna know also if the international customers have to attach at least a receipt of their purchase in an UK shop. If not, Universal UK may risk to replace the Gladiator blu ray to all the European customers, because the disk 1 is the same in all European countries... So, a clarification of some details is necessary, I think.

Bye, Chris
