Arrow Increase Sony/Blu-ray sales at Wal-Mart

Increase Sony/Blu-ray sales at Wal-Mart (no purchase required )

I was reading another thread about Blu-ray at walmart and wanted to share some ideas (which I have done), and some other ways we can increase blu-rays presence in the stores.
If you do not care for walmart (and I do not blame you), please rant in another thread so this one does not get off topic, or Click Here.
The fact is walmart is a huge retailer and increasing blu-rays presence in the stores will ultimately help Blu-ray, and more BR sales at wal-mart also means more titles and that little yellow smile guy will come slash prices.

The Good News:
Our local walmarts have put all the hd-dud players in the corner on clearance and started stocking blu-ray players (BDP-S300 & BD-P1200), for under $500 (and display the 5 free BR offer, though about expired).

The Not-so-Good News:
Our Wal-Mart gets almost every new release (blu-ray and also some hd-dvd), and a lot of older titles, but they hide them all behind the cell phones counter in a cabinet due to theft (so you have to ask by name, or they only show you the new releases), and then you have to ask the price for each; it’s obviously a very bad way of doing it.
They do put a few 'dummy cases' on the shelf, but it’s only a few and I have seen no change/increase.
I told the electronics employees that if they put them in the glass game cases (or another secure area, like other stores have done) were they could be seen, many more people would buy them (and it could possibly boost PS3 sales).

Plan 1 (educate):
Something I have been doing when in the store is helping educate the ‘not so electronically inclined’ electronics staff about blu-ray, since many of them seem to think they ‘have’ to replace their DVD collections, and are spreading misinformed garbage which turns away sales and does damage to HD in general.
Explain to them it will upscale their current DVD collection, making their existing collection much better.
Explain the PS3 factor, and how many blu-ray players are already in use, and that it is the future of HD.
Explain the similar cost in movies, and the huge difference in PQ & SQ (audio/video quality).
Etc, etc, etc…
Explain that a nice Blu-ray display will increase sales.
Throw in some info about HD-DVD once in awhile (I heard their disks catch on fire )

Plan 2 (influence in numbers):
I think we should post our local walmart stores phone numbers, who do not stock Blu-ray, or place them in visible places, or have good Blu-ray displays with 1080p TV’s and HDMI.
This way we can all call them in larger numbers and get more influence to the management of those stores.

We can also call Bentonville HQ, to see what can be done about getting a secure area in all of the stores to display them.
