Default I support Blu-ray... but!

Transformer not on Blu Ray, I was a little taken back at first then thought about it for a moment.....and a smile came across my face...at least I'll have "Spiderman"!!

Shriek not on Blu Ray, sad news because I wanted it for my little girl......then a smile came across my face......Hell shes only six, SD dvd is still cool to her!!

I guess my point is, I've made my choice and I'm sticking with it, no point in getting upset with that the other guy is or is not pushing out because there is all ways a bright side.

In my humble opinion, if Blu Ray is to really win over the competition, then they need to produce more blockbuster movies like spiderman, underworld etc.... I hear talk about Blades of Glory....give me a break...they can keep it! Even on blu I wouldnt have bought it.... I support blu but don't expect me to waist money on movies I will only watch once in my life time....

I'm still trying to get rid of my old sd moive collection.......what the hell was I thinking buying all those movies (456)......I found at least 23 that were never opended. I'm not going through that again. I'll purchase Blu titles but only if I deem them to be damn near classics!

I'll buy blu ray titles, but not blindly.......... I can't wait for these to drop!

I was dissapointed about transformers and blades of glory not comming to BD for 18months too.

But that feeling dissapeared once I realised 28 days later and 28 weeks later were on their way. My two favorite horror movies, in high def+sorround sound
! I cant wait!

I dunno; I've been applying the same buying formula for BD that I did for DVD when it first came around, and that's purchasing the films that would best showcase the technology. I love a good comedy, but, for me, a comedy just wouldn't be a priority purchase on BD quite yet. Maybe in, say, three or four years, but, for now, I really only go after visually impressive movies like Apocalypto, Fifth Element, etc. Do I really need to see Will Ferrell's moose knuckle in HD??

Get her Cars and Ratatouille and I'm sure she'll be one happy little girl (with an equally happy parent ).

And goodness sake, don't forget Sleeping Beauty next year. It's almost child abuse not to expose them to the Disney classics.

I totally agree. I'm offloading my old DVDs to family my younger brothers and sisters. They won't buy blu-ray at this point because of their ages and no money. I'm only buying what I think are classics or really good movies that I watch over and over and over. I'd love to see Batman Begins, and Predator on Blu-ray in the near future, and I'm definitley picking up the ones you posted here.... Those 3 are all terrific movies.

So? BluRay will have all the great Pixar animations and Disney classics. Cars, Ratatouille and Pixar shorts have allready been announced.

Also animations from Blue Sky/Fox: Ice Age 1 & 2, Robots.

And they all will be exclusive to BluRay.

what part?

The gist of what i was saying is that I will support blu, but not waste money doing it. I wont cry if hd has a moive I would rather see on blu however I'll still be pleased to see it on SD.... Transformers on SD will be great, but not fantastic... Spiderman on SD is great but I have BD and that's fantasic!!

Tit for tat in the format war.........

I've never heard of any movie called "Shriek". So I'm guessing it's no big loss...

But I still counted last night and I am up to almost 30 titles. I started with Planet Earth and after my wife saw that I haven't heard one word about spending more to buy Blu. She was totally sold after that. I am still only buying what I consider really good movies and we won't replace every DVD in our collection (yet, heh) but I'm not hurting for entertainment choices. I would love to have Transformers on Blu (and I will soon enough) but I wouldn't trade it for the POTC movies or the Spider-Man Trilogy.

So the movie is either called 01-18-08 or Cloverfield.

Looks like a remake of godzilla. Yawn. Paramounted doesn't have any new ideas, just like their hi def decisions.
